If there was any landslide, it was on the Martuljek side. There is no marked path to Spik there. Only to the bivouac under Spik, right next to or just above the V Srcu bivouac hut, there is a nice path. And on the other side to the Za Akom bivouac Meaning, whatever is marked to Spik, you have to look elsewhere

Well I know where the marked paths go. I'm asking if there are official notices about landslides anywhere. Because if someone on Facebook says Spik is collapsing, it doesn't mean it's true.

FB psssst!!!! Fake book portal If there was something serious, it would have spread already. No way that alpinists aren't climbing in Spik and Rušica and if there was something, someone would surely have noticed. If anything, probably a landslide as landslide, north side and a bunch of scree, cold and heat, and you have . . . . . rubble on rubble

Yes, somewhere between Spik and the Frdaman ledges. More or less completely off the known climbing routes. No big deal, judging by the pictures.

On Saturday I was on Špik, up via Lipnica, down via Kačji graben. The path via Lipnica is simply beautiful, some enjoyable walking, a bit of knee-grinding, some minor climbing at the fixed protections and some scrambling without. At the top a magnificent view of Mojstrovka, Prisojnik, Jalovec, Škrlatica ... really nice. A summit worth visiting again. Descent via Kačji graben. What can I say, the upper part is pure pleasure sliding on scree, in the lower part you pay the toll for the pleasure. Really insanely steep, one of those variants between scrambling and walking. Luck is that it's dry and no excessive slipperiness that some mention. Or just a little. Ascent through Kačji graben is in my opinion for the most stubborn and hearty hikers. Maybe I'll try it sometime, never say never. No pics unfortunately, camera left at home. To the alpinist who got a bad ankle injury while climbing to Špik, speedy recovery and many more alpinistic adventures. Be well, Saša

Morning in Krnica didn't promise much. But as so often before, the meteorologists nailed the forecast. Weather was excellent today. Path via Lipnica without special features, no crowd at the top either. Descent over wet Kačji graben is quite uncomfortable. Combination of mud and slippery stones and you're quickly on your a... Company excellent, in short, another nicely spent day in the mountains. Regards

Garmont, better give some pic when we overcome the fog border. Otherwise nice and strenuous tour, Prisojnik, Razor, Škrlatica, Rokavi... you see them from a completely different perspective.

Today first time on Špik via Lipnica up and down. Whole day only three of us up there. Fixed protections (two cables and one peg ) in excellent condition. Summit wall of Špik looks from Lipnica like mission impossible, but when you're in the wall, you see it's completely tame, non-vertical, friendly structured, just a bit gravelly. Most annoying part of the path comes on descent already deep in Krnica: about 30m height on very narrow, very steep and very very slippery path. Just a little carelessness and you're flying on your butt or nose. Description says it's a very demanding path, but to me personally it seems comfortably one grade easier. Again missed photographing ibex, but had more luck with aviation. On return one insanely fast bird (somewhat brownish, very slender body and wings, size of two swallows) increasingly close besieged me. Every couple minutes it flew in, braked with insane speed, dived near me or around me and then disappeared. And then came back again and again. When I was resting on grass already on the other side of Lipnica, it finally lost it: zoomed over my head a few meters and multiple times. Luckily had camera ready on phone and managed to catch it a couple times (resulting footage is terribly unsuccessful - only for home use and memory). We were quite a lucky pair: him with attempts to chase me off territory and me flying with phone after him Two curious animal species totally engrossed in each other. Definitely my best animal adventure so far in the mountains.

For company I always take time, today did circular route, golden larches in full swing, path unique, scenic, some little snow under Lipnica, towards Špik summit careful, because rocks fly down, helmet obligatory and careful, top views far around, all previous summits I've reached with company second, third time etc. and happy to go, otherwise return over scree in forested area lots of leaves on path... and of course golden larches, needles already falling down.

Today I set off via Kačji graben to Špik. Road to Krnica completely icy, so thinking about shortening the path is out. Snow starts around 1200m, yesterday's hiker's footprints were helpful to me, who turned back for some unknown reason approx 200m below summit. Up to there quite a bit of drifted snow, sinking in some places even over knees. Upper part sun already warms it well now, snow well transformed and went o.k., except extremely slooooow dragging... but descent much faster

Ploha, great that my footprints were helpful to you. And I hope the winter path is safe for everyone. Otherwise, my midweek hike to Špik was really unsuccessful. I turned back 200 m below the summit. Because, simply, in my opinion there were no safe 5 m in front of me. Conditions surely change day by day. Good luck

Nataša, what happened to that chamois on the ground?

@nataša.si Queen, you turn back below the summit because you think it is not safe. Few admit it, fewer write it. Good luck and safe steps on all your paths.

Nataša, congrats on your prudent and reasonable action. I've turned back before too, so what, next time when it's safer.
