@ Beno - did you go via Lipnica or via Graben? Thanks and good luck.

@Flora1: In winter almost no one goes via Lipnica, that "usual" summer route... I doubt they did...mežikanje

Well, let me ask too.. nasmeh Has anyone been to Spik recently, around Spik, past Spik? What are the conditions like? Which path would be the most suitable? For the weekend, if the weather is still somewhat acceptable, we'd go take a look. Regards and thanks for the answer

p.s. and don't forget to stoke the stove so it doesn't go out velik nasmeh

Yesterday up the Graben to Spik. No snow all the way to the last scree field, where it was still very hard in the morning, so winter gear goes fine. Snow disappears soon after reaching the last ridge, so the final ascent is practically on dry rock.
Surprised by the low number of visits to Spik, as per the logbook my visit this year is number seven and the first after more than two months. Regardsnasmeh

Thanks in advance.

We were up there last weekend and there were only some small snow patches in the upper scree part, no need for winter gear. Now it's surely gone too. Via Lipnica it's completely dry.

As planned, today we were on Spiknasmeh. Unfortunately an hour too late or too early, as just when approaching the summit and almost the whole time up there, mists shrouded everything around. In front of us "sun disk" and half an hour after leaving the top, "almost sun disk" too. Still a nice route... Up Lipnica, down Kačji Graben... No snow on the path anywhere, except one small snow patch on descent, easy to bypass, no problem crossing it. Fast "scrambling" on scree is pure pleasure, and quick too...velik nasmeh.

A few pics.

On the return the views opened again... also towards Jalovec...6
When we were in Martuljek, Špik and his friends greeted us like this once more.7

I read this on FB: "Spik is collapsing. An avalanche of scree masses was observed from the valley, rolling over Srce below Spik." Anyone know more? nasmeh

This interests me too, as I plan to go soon. Where is that part (Srce)? Is the marked path damaged?

Ojoj jezen

From the Martuljek side there isn't any marked path to Spik at all.

Ojoj, really.
Srce is S side, under the Spik wall.

Who said that there's a marked path from the Martuljek direction? If it's the north side, as Flora1 says, then the marked path really can't be damaged nasmeh, I think that's clear to everyone. Still, it'd be interesting to see some photos of what happened.

Although there's no official notice anywhere that there was a landslide. Is this even true? Or is there any notice about it?
