Alpin, great video and nice mountain panorama! Hope the colleague from unfortunate Eagle Heads recovers soon, as I probably met him in winter on Zvoh in tandem. He was also on the CD he gave me - Kavka production (Montenegro, Bohinj, Krvavec, abroad).

Just now I looked at paths to Storžič, but the one we took isn't described at all. Does anyone know what it's called? It's very steep!!

Yes matta, exactly there. Really nice and so many gentians piled up. Think from bench on unmarked, but still well trodden steep path. L.P.

Today we climbed Storžič (all for the first time  ) through Žrelo and returned via Škarjev rob. The fixed protection on both paths was impeccable, but more caution was needed due to wet rocks - not so much from yesterday's rain but from extremely heavy dew. We met very few people on the trail, only about 20 at the summit.
After returning, we had an excellent meal at Koča pod Storžičem. Full praise to the keeper who can be an example to others.

Today I decided to visit the westernmost mountain (over 2000m) in KSA. Started from home under Storžič and climbed via Žrelo to panoramic summit. Since temp was above freezing and no trace of last snow, grip excellent, rocks dry, reached top in under three hours. Descended via Škarjev rob. LP

Early morning started from Dom pod Storžičem and took path through Žrelo. Practiced placing self-belays on ladders. Feels safer but ascent slows a bit. Helmet essential. Ridge really exposed, especially with strong wind like today, feared wind gust would push into abyss. Summit great, descent via Škarjev rob not hard or long. Recommend the tour!

Today (Sun 03.10.) start at 9.00 from in front of Dom pod Storžičem. At junction up through Žrelo. Five mountain lovers overtook me to entrance of Žrelo. Gully slippery as glass at places, very happy when reached first cables. Then easier, upon ridge panorama. West Julijci "out", distant Krn, Stol and Košuta ridge. East good vis of Krvavec, Kalski greben and Kočna. South white sea as far as the eye can see. Up top cold wind blowing, so after 15 min down Škarjev rob to hut. Wonderful stew and buckwheat polenta, then home. Total up 3 hrs down 2. LP

I'd like someone to write what the snow conditions are on Storžič (via Ždrelo). Are crampons and an ice axe needed for the ascent?

There can't be that much of it, if the snowing limit was mostly above 2000m.
Anyway, I plan to go up soon.
