Last Thursday it wasn't yet; we left the car at the small parking lot where the snow started on the road. In the afternoon some drove a bit higher, but not to the hut. Walking from the car to the hut approx. 20 min.

Today 29.3 conditions are significantly different. At height approx. 1500m one sinks to the knees in completely rotten snow (temperature at 12h 9 deg C) from all possible gullies Storžič shakes off snow in liquid waterfalls.

On Saturday I plan to go to Storžič. Has anyone been up there recently? I start from Mač or Laški Rovti, past Kališče. I assume the path is OK. Does anyone have any information?

Hi.
From Mač via Kališče I was up on Tuesday.
Longest snow patches on the flat from Kališče to Baseljsko sedlo and then on the ascent through the scree. Higher up shorter snow patches only at the first ladder. Good tracks everywhere in the snow. Snow is soft, but doesn't sink. No crampons.

From Bašelj along SW ridge to summit. Descent via Kališče back to Bašelj. Ridge path fully dry, towards Kališče still some snow in scree above Bašelj saddle.

I went last Saturday on this path. Quite a lot of snow (knee-deep). Gotta be early or it collapses. Probably much melted now.
