Mate07, still congratulations for persistence and stubbornness. Weight can really be a problem, but where there's a will, there's strength. Just keep going!nasmeh

Thanks to both.

But in my opinion it's a real rarity that such a "fatty" gets so high.

Not at all. 120 kg/184 cm

Been to most marked peaks and a couple of unmarked ones. Lots of going to the mountains to strengthen the right muscles and gain fitness.

And a nice fat greeting.

But I still have a higher body mass index.

I got to Kamniško sedlo completely without issues/without special fatigue and thought of going to Brana too, but the peak was in fog.

Mate, you're not the only one with too much weight who goes hiking; you can meet quite a few. Yes, they go a bit slower, puff a bit more, but most reach the goal! We need to appreciate their effort they put in, and it's certainly greater than those who go on these paths with BMI 25 or less nasmeh.

I know, yes, fat people go too, but I haven't met anyone fatter than me yet.
Don't know, but I go to mountains with even more joy because mountains are so beautiful to me.
Otherwise this year for the first time reached so many goals. Last year only 3 goals and even those were walks about 5 km not higher than 1600 meters.
In 2007 and previous years I NEVER went to mountains.

It's like that, I choose only easier marked paths, next year [I'll] go on demanding tours.

Mate 07, you're cool, really. Make sure in winter to still go on some shorter tours, depending on where you're from, and the kilos will go down easier too. And next year to new victories. It's important to enjoy in the mountains, time doesn't matter. It's important to see small, simple things. To enjoy the beauties that our beautiful mountains offer. Ciaomežikanje

I'm also happy about your will and that you like mountains so much. Just bravely step by step higher and the kilos lower.

I'm also one of those who can't and can't lose their 7 kg of excess weight.

I'm soon planning Storžič up through Žrelo and down Škarjev rob, interested what the path is like or any peculiarities, if anyone was recently on this path I would appreciate info.

In the morning we decided to take the path to Storžič from the Jezersko side. The closed road extended the trip a lot, but it was still nicenasmeh. The path to Praprotnikova hut mostly goes through the forest. Near Bašeljsko sedlo the first rocks start to appear, there the wind also started blowing. There was no fog at the beginning of the ridge and the views could have been worse. On the top the fog was thicker and there was no viewmrk pogled. The path is demanding, but on the way back no great caution is needed. At the end a visit to the hut at Kališče, which on Sundays closes around 16:00. Then another 1.45 h to Mač or Bašelj and the all-day trip was done velik nasmeh LP

Well, there were quite a few of us on Storžič this weekend; on Saturday, 26.9., finally, even I, the dizzy hiker, with the help of an internet colleague - thanks to him; it was really great for me, no dangers, I went from Dom pod Storžičem, via Mala and Velika Polana; there is really quite some knee biting; too bad the valley was wrapped in fog, or rather that only for a couple of short moments the wind blew away the mists above Bašeljski prelaz; if anyone else hesitates, like I did for long, that this prominent Gorenjska peak is unconquerable for us dizzy ones, then courageously go for it - here's proof in the picture that I succeededvelik nasmeh (since this time only from mobile they are somewhat worse)

Today we visited Storžič through the gorge and back over Škarjev rob. The path is good, safety gear - cables are in good condition. I recommend the path because you quickly gain height and already have views, especially if you are lucky with the weather like we were today; views really super from Triglav, Nanos, Kamnik Alps and Karawanks.

I also forgot: Dom pod Storžičem is already closed, at least today it was, so we had to wait for refreshment until the valley.

mate
let me comfort you.
Me too I'm not among "the skinny ones", but persistently "bite" into hills.
At my 105 kg/177cm I'm not "athlete" either. But it pulls me into hills anyway. Tomorrow going to Storžič from Mač. My fifth 2000m this year!

Which is the most popular path to Storžič and that it's not hard... I went on one of the easier paths, but I didn't like it (avalanche destroyed the marked path, but not much).
Went from Laški (700m).

You are thinking a bit wrong, at least I think so, see that after every tour you manage more and regarding fitness and strength with regular training - hiking, it progresses on its own. Every next tour is a different test (well in between there might be bad personal days too).
And safe steps to you!
