Hi. Maybe someone knows if the path through Žrelo and return over Škarjev rob is clear? Thanks in advance!

13.06. On the path through Žrelo nowhere do you step on snow, on the path over Škarjev rob there are two tiny snowfields, total 3 meters, nothing problematic, you can go over or around.

I have to disappoint you, the road is in very bad condition and I don't recommend you drive up, the hut is closed, don't know why? probably due to incompetent management in PD Tržič.

Regarding the hut I'm not sure (I know only that they changed the bar this week), road is not bad. On Sunday lots of cars up there - not 4x4s. Compared to road condition after last flood, road is excellent. Cheerfully on the way, car probably just a bit dirty.

Hut probably closed because they can't find new caretaker. Previous one went to Roblek. Probably not without reason.

Road more rutted than last year, if no fancy rims, it's ok.

Closed for renovation - CALLS for caretaker.
TRDI- don't believe everything written. Ask at Velika and Mali poljana, Lom and finally Tržič, you'll learn what's true.
Recently renovated all lower rooms (tenant Marko M.).
No workers in hut or around.
We left hungry and thirsty too.

and knocked on closed doors after return from Storžič...
no harm if someone responsible in PD Tržič reads this portal
... what if they finally pour us straight wine (water) ?

Today from Povelj to Storžič via psycho-, descent to Bašeljski preval and back to Povelj. Except lower part where logging, fewer marks consequently, path without features. Nice loop trail.

Dom pod Storžičem was still closed today, the road in general and below the hut, when the slope starts, is also very poor, wavy and full of stones, so if you care about your car, better park below under the meadow.
Well, luckily all hiking paths leading to Storžič are OK, also the path from Little and Big Poljana over Psica is well marked and secured this year.

The PD hut is unfortunately still closed ... numerous Croats who were in the majority today: Slovenes should go to them to learn tourism

Sheep herd almost at the top, consequence: droppings everywhere around

Descent via Škarjeve peči - also without special features, but in summer there is a lot of traffic from this direction

Yesterday we did the route from Bašelj, past SV. Lovrenc along the SW ridge to Storžič. The path is good and without peculiarities, even the unmarked trail above the junction is well trodden and easy to follow, offers beautiful views so I recommend it to everyone, but it's quite strenuous, but worth all the effort wink

Descent via Bašelj saddle and Kališče back to Bašelj. Nothing special here, paths maintained and marked. At Kališče friendly caretakers, they serve good food, so take some time and eat something in the hut smile

In Dom pod Storžičem there's a new caretaker, the road, well, isn't exactly asphalt, at first, blink a bit here and there, and it goes.

Today a circular in Storžič kingdom. Mače-Kališče-Storžič-Bašeljski vrh-Mali Grintovec-Licjanovec-Mali Grintovec-Srednji vrh-Cjanovca-descent towards Javorov vrh and then right back through Hudičev Boršt and down to Mače. Ideal for hiking, not too hot, occasional cool wind and clouds covering the sun. To Licjanovec you have to push a bit through the pines, otherwise all paths without issues, skipping some fallen trees that can be bypassed (Cjanovca-Hudičev Boršt).

Descent from Cjanovco, below is Hudičev Boršt.

I was on Storžič today. Up through Žrelo, down via Velika and Mala Poljana.
The road to the hut under Storžič doesn't deserve the name, especially in the lower part. The path through Žrelo hasn't had repairs for a long time. At the top you take some photos, maybe sign the book, as it's full of sheep "shit" as always. At Mala Poljana for sour milk and longer chat.
