Tamar Hut

In the sun two golden rings were shining bright,
as in autumn Tamar we opened the door tight.

Trees around us glowed in all colors so fine,
on peaks above the valley all covered in white.

The view of Jalovec always excites us so,
my darling approaches the ascent more and more.

Today's day was a true autumn gift so rare,
for us especially it had its own charm there. nasmeh

I think I saw you yesterday at the celebration of the enviable anniversary (in the inn at cake cutting). I gift you a couple of verses that my mom composed more than 50 years ago:
"Dear groom and bride,
always be faithful side by side,
for life will be easier so,
if hand in hand you always go.
Strange are life's paths,
led far around,
but God your trails,
to common path has bound."

One touristy today. In the morning it rained to Kranj and back. Meanwhile the sky over Tamar even tried to spread blue. We combined the walk with a visit to Zelenci and the Alpine Museum. The hut is open, tomorrow they have New Year's Eve party, the path is ratracked, about halfway there's also a ski track made. Museum open all the time too (except on public holidays). Ciprnik and Slemenova Špica showed themselves, Ponca and Mojstrovka only walls, the rest in clouds. But we stretched our legs anyway.

what a friendly little face, but such claws it has... :)

Nice greetings!

On Sunday I plan to walk with my girl to Tamar valley (ski jumps - Tamar hut). And I'm interested if anyone knows if conditions for sledding are already there or if the path to the hut is "ratracked"? nasmeh

That's a good one. Sledding in Tamar. Even kids can't sled here because there's simply no slope for that. Only if you hitch a horse velik nasmeh

Well then walking, if I'll maybe get some positive comment back. I'm just interested what the path is like now and not what the slope gradients are etc.... and if sledding is possible there at all.... I've been there already so I know how it is... Thanks!

Amid all the bad news these days, at least one good: nature has completely spared the beautiful Tamar valley and given it the look of a real winter fairy tale…

After prior consultation with the hut keeper, a walk through Tamar valley seemed a good choice for today. Especially safe. And it was. Particularly at the path's start, quite some rime on trees, but nothing broken. Closer to the valley head, less rime, more snow. Cracks and booms in the valley, but not from trees breaking and falling, but from avalanches flying down non-stop from all walls around. Short but very nice, actually the "cherry on top" after days of resting when conditions weren't safe even for the house hill… zadrega

Road to Planica ruined to nothing... :-)

Hills and dales... all white, all untouched...

Nothing is broken, but heavy branches are bending down to the ground...

There is no track here and there probably won't be for a long time...

No worries... the path to the WC is cleared... :-)

One last look... mists are slowly covering it...

but the sun hasn't said its last word yet... Let's go back while there's still some... :-)

Today nice, sunny and quite cold in the morning. Snow underfoot creaked like in the middle of the worst winter. Lots of snow in Tamar. Even though trees shook off snow load, it was still nice....
