Maybe someone knows what condition the path is in that Darinka wrote about in 2020 on the previous page?

It's the path that from planina Kal direction before SPP drops into the gullies to pl. Dobrenjščica continues straight under Vrh Planje and Kser and joins the mulatiera that climbs to the barracks under Kser.

From pl. Kal I'd like to do a circular tour including T. Kuk and Vrh Planje and this path seems ideal so I don't have to descend to Dobrenjščica from one or the other direction.

Hard to say anything about that path. I remember it was already in bad condition back then. The start of the path is hidden. Hunters usually don't like people walking on their paths. Equally really sad that the barracks below Škrli peak is decaying. Interesting shapes and real shame that the tooth of time doesn't spare it.

I went on this path a couple years ago and it was decently trodden. But that doesn't apply at all to the junction from the mulatier, look for it right in the sharp left bend when the previously fairly flat path starts descending. If I hadn't looked well beforehand from Medrje or Slemena across the valley I wouldn't have searched for it therewink the visible trail starts about 30-40m away from the mulatier. A bit annoying crossing of one intermediate collapsed gully even had protection with a thin wire. Mulatier Dobrenjščica-Vrh Škrli reaches above the ruins. A bit of scrambling you can't avoidwink

16.03.2023. Already when we were on Zeleni vrh we checked from that side where we could get to Tolminski Kuk. We decided to go after snowfall to see how it looks and if possible go to the summit, otherwise turn back. Last time under Zjabci because too much snow and it was crusting. We were the only ones on the path. From Tolminske Ravne, where a bit higher we turn right and on steep but somewhat shorter path to the sign and from junction to planina Kal. We go towards Škrbinska plošča and turn left towards Zeleni vrh. Since we've walked here in snow several times, the path is known to us. Yesterday snow was untouched. We made the track. We left poles at the same place as last time and continued with winter gear. We were approaching the gully. Snow was crusting as we knew but much less than last time under Zjabci. We continued to the ridge between Kuk and Zeleni vrh. The day was beautiful. With little wind. Because of cornices on the summit, we decided to go a bit lower and then steeply to Kuk summit. At the summit windless and great views. We descended on the track. And carefully, because snow softened due to strong sun that warmed like summer.

Yesterday we ended up in Tolmin mountains. The road to T Ravne is in fairly good condition since they widened those narrow bends just above the hydro plant.
Just slowly push through the snowdrifts of stelje, since you don't know what they hide. Up over planina Na Kalu, down over Škrbina and under the plošča right into the gully, where in the steepest part all fallen leaves from nearby edges have accumulated. That part requires more attention than all that snow misery higher up.

Kuk this time a bit differently; start as always at Tol Ravne. At Kal the hut was open, short chat with the hut keepers and already walking in the shade on the nice mulatier towards Dobrenjščica. The hunting trail that crosses the slope horizontally is in even worse condition than years ago. Here I mean especially crossing the collapsed crumbly gully, where I surely went last time. Since at the first vantage point still in shade I turned directly upwards, knee fright wasn't spared merolling Well on the ridge of Kserja and then Planje it's a very nice path with almost new markers, just a bit awkward is the west slope section of Kuk above Planja saddle due to scree base. Descent via Migovec-to ruins to calm the soul, to Kal and down again into shadesmile.big

Tolminske Ravne - planina Kal - Tolminski Kuk (4.1.2025) When hiking go to the end. After snowfall you don't know the conditions. Otherwise not much snow was forecasted. But you never know until you're there. Snow starts already on the path to planina Kal. There we meet two hikers. One returning from Grušnica. The other probably from Migovec. We had trodden to the saddle. Just right amount of snow for walking. Still somewhere midway we put on crampons. Just then another hiker overtook us. He went to Migovec. From saddle onwards we had fairy-tale whiteness. Searching passages. Helped with navigation somewhere, although we've been here before. And arrived under Kuk. There we decide to go directly steeply and then along ridge to summit. Snow after last snowfall held nicely. Creaking under feet. Pleasant walking when it didn't sink. On summit we were apparently the only hikers. Wind was pulling a bit. But not too much. Descended on ascent path and in daylight arrived at Ravne. Beautiful first tour of the new year. smile

14 days ago the path from Tolminske Ravne to the fork between Migovec and Tolminski Kuk was dry, further there were small patches of snow to Zeleni vrh. We went circular further to Mali vrh, where there's still quite some snow and further to planina Razor.
