Wife was up there yesterday. They descended in rain and fog. Up top where there's no path, there are enough cairns, need some attention. Once you catch the little path, no orientation problems, but the path is very slippery in rain, need quite some caution.
Down at Konjščica there's again a lot of mud. The path to parking is also very slippery.

Does anyone maybe know if the path to Tosc is dry, or maybe snowy and trodden, or what are the conditions. Thanks

Past mentions of the idyllic Konjščica pasture finally tempted us on Saturday as a starting point for the 'fantastic' Tosc. In a relatively clear morning, quite a few of us tackled the Klance above the pasture towards Studorskim, the column of hikers predictably grew much larger at the junction from Rudno polje, up to the turn-off for Tosc, after which we headed to the Tosc summit alone, at least then. The path, zigzagging in the lower part through the grassy slope dotted with clumps of large white alpine flowers, turns into rough unstable scree, then again grassy expanse in the last part, and after the first false summit when you sigh that the 'torment' is over, there's another little peak, oh dear... but - beautiful and panoramic, though due to heat hazes the outlines of our Julian giants weren't clearly drawn; gratitude that the sun was covered by clouds providing natural cooling and shade on the open slope quickly faded at the top, as sadly during our whole enjoyment Triglav's summit wasn't visible, but both its huts were nicely seen with zigzag approaches, in the deep abyss below our feet Vodnikova koča and further beautiful Kanjavec, Vršaki; really phenomenal as I read somewhere about mountains: .... 'unique beauty, primality of nature-mountains that clears the senses, enriches body and soul...': p.s. At the top there was a large herd of sheep that immediately rushes after the hiker, persistently follows, licks salty dew from sweaty hands, legs, trekking poles, and they'd like a snack as toll for invading their home ...of course we're the intruders, not them...; lp

Night trip to Tosc was wonderful and not cold at all. Path only here and there snowy. Snow didn't sink through, but locally a bit icy. Winter gear stayed in the backpack. On the way up marmots had whistling chats, on the way down they were already snoring.

@dragonar... You're wrong, you can check though. Around eight in the evening they weren't in a winter mood at all. I hope you'll enjoy in the coming days somewhere where you'll hear them or even see them.
