Yesterday, Turski žleb was quite crowded. Various goals: some to Rinka, others to Turkish Mountain, for some the ascent of the gully itself was the goal of the tour . In the upper part of the gully it was somewhat harder, but not yet fully consolidated. During the ascent we also noticed ski tracks. The path to the summit of T. mountain proceeded in strong sun, which softened the snow a bit. Conditions were excellent!

30.03.2014 we too were on the same path, later, due to the temperature the ascent to the gully entrance was already very strenuous, gully OK, then from gully to Turska again too warm, on descent in upper gully part quite some ice and stones fell. Really heavy traffic in gully. Photos at http://www.pdmaticams-drustvo.si/

28.6.2014 led to Turska gora from Okrešelj through Turski žleb. In žleb conditions still fully winter, whole covered with ice, snow packed, below summit slope by my estimate around 50 degrees, further to summit path dry. Descended via marked path back. Here still lots of snow so can't descend without gear because part of path still in snow, lots of snow, caution needed.... also warning, stones flying down žleb, many dislodged by hikers in upper part of marked path and all flies to valley, especially not into žleb without helmet, crampons and ice axe. Good luck

Does anyone have any more recent experience from about a week ago through the gully to Turkish Mountain? Is the gully still snow-covered and do you need crampons and ice axe? What about further to Kamnik Saddle?

3 weeks ago one of the GRS assessed that it's passable without gear, probably even better now. Kotliči too, if you believe Hribar who went through there last week. Probably rain washed the white mess

redbull, thanks, so that means the fixed ropes and pegs are out and no more snow patch at the top of the gully?....

I was there on Saturday, all fine except the fixed ropes. Already torn at the start, then also in the wall at a very exposed spot. Wanted to add photo but can't. For less experienced it's quite unpleasant! Well, it worked!

If there's snow in the couloir it's much easier up the snow
