02.08. ascent to Turkish Mountain via Turkish Gully. Exceptional stuff, very nice path, but fixed ropes still damaged. Snow only at entrance to climbing section and not obstacle. Exceptional again... After summit descended to Kotliči via Sod brez dna, then to Brana and Kamnik Hut. Quite strenuous but very nice tour. Kotliči somehow psychologically messed up, seemed like the path would take us down to Kamniška Bistrica. Only at lowest point visible that path could only be routed that way... With me was friend Krešo.

I'm planning for the weekend to Turska via the gully, but these infos have kinda upset me. Are there several broken cables and is the path discouraged? How is the passage on those parts?

The path is totally ok. Only in initial part it's a bit torn, but not needed because there are pegs. Sunday girl went on this path, path is dry. No worry lp D

The cable is torn at the entrance to the climbing part of the gully, on the vertical ascent on pegs. That's no problem. Then there's another cable torn on the traverse on pegs. But there it's only two-three meters. With a little caution it's also not much of a problem. Actually, the biggest problem is not to trigger a slab in the gully.

There in the middle part where the cable is torn, a rope has been added which makes it at least a bit easier to get across.

Why is Turska gora actually called Turska?

I think it got its name after the Hohe Tauern in Austria, that's why Turska gora.

On Sunday hiked the gully (Rinka - Turska gora - Brana - Kamniško sedlo - Rinka). Torn cables are no problem, but I agree regarding the slab. The traverse was a bit of an adrenaline rush, with flying rocks from hikers ahead, the trampled path is obviously "erased". Caution definitely won't hurt.

One short section (2m) is torn and now temporarily secured with rope. Otherwise OK.

Yesterday we were on Turska Gora through Turski žleb. Wind was very strong and snow flurries appeared, but Turski žleb has snow which is frozen in some places. Must use all winter gear. Greetings from Croatia!

Despite forecasted weather worsening, with my son we hoped at least morning would hold for Turska gora visit. With headlamps on we quickly went to Okrešelj where it got light enough to stow them. Without crampons we continued to about half the scree under the gully. Further without crampons and ice axe not safe anymore, snow was hard and icy in places. Crampons gripped great on it allowing fast progress to gully exit. There strong wind surprised us, none in gully. With quite cold we put on everything from backpack. As we went to Turska gora summit fog and light snow came. All caused express descent back to gully lee. Despite snow still many hikers ascending hoping to reach at least Turski žleb exit. Worsening came bit early maybe crossed some plans. With son we were early enough for successful first winter ascent of Turska gora.
