Hello

On Saturday we're heading to Uršlja. Is the road to the Naravskih Ledinah hut normally drivable or do we need chains?

On Saturday it went normally, no chains needed, road is also gritted. But the parking by the road was quite full. Regards

Yesterday nice weather and excellent path. The path well trodden from Naravske ledine. Crampons are recommended.

The path from Naravske ledine to Uršlja is very icy, so crampons are more than recommended.

No snow on the mountain from any direction anymore. Not even on the hunting path from Luž, where there were patches a week ago.

Today there were magnificent views from Uršlja gora, recommend!
Highest point of Uršlja Gora or Plešivec1
Behind Raduha, Olševa and Peca, the peaks of Kamniško-Savinjske and Julijske Alpe were nicely visible on the horizon.2
Church of St. Ursula, the highest situated Slovenian church, and mountain hut on Uršlja Gora3

Morning at Ciganija parking foggy -2°C. We stepped into the sun above the Šišernik meadows. In the forest to the left, searched for the hunting traverse. Luckily someone went ahead a few days ago and made tracks which we happily used. Snow up to 40 cm with frozen crust that was breaking through. We had to crawl under quite a few fallen spruces. Just before switching to the marked path from Naravske ledine, we found tracks on the ridge. So we stepped onto the marked path a couple of minutes before the Uršlja summit.
Nice views. At the hut we snacked on the bench in the sun and back to the valley on the marked path. A bit sorry we left the small crampons at home. Descent iced on most of the forest path!!!
Three hours for the ascent and a bit more than 2 hours for the descent. It was nice!

Pretty bare, I'd almost say there's none. From the road onwards there's a little bit (1500m alt).

Hello! Today I was again on our beautiful Urški! And this year I asked myself, what can I as Bergmensch do for our Alps? And yes, I can clean them. One trash bag and one glove really isn't that hard to put in the backpack and clean on the way back. Pigs anyway those tourists and one-timers, real mountaineers no! Our kids, descendants and alpine animals will thank us. Maybe it will make someone think and maybe more of us in future with heart for our Alps. Pictures say all! Now I feel much better knowing I did something useful for our Urško this time.

Yes, those tires sadly have to wait for my next visit when I'll have a big bag. Right by the alpine ironworking path from Ivarček, about 10min walk from start. Maybe someone removes them before....
