Some of us used the whole weekend and survived the minefield (holes in snow and rocks) from Vršič to Jalovec, where it finally stopped due to bad conditions - too little snow below it plus rime. In between we bivouacked under the open sky below Jalovška notch and we also took a few pics  photo report here.

Yes, we can hardly keep up with all the adventurous feats of our fine hikers with hikes under starry sky or even overnighting in the embrace of wild, snowy nature, among boulders and below walls of our mountains, of course in the silence of twinkling stars.
I am an admirer of the starry sky and already forging plans for overnighting under starry sky, of course in summer somewhere in the mountains, Lanževica would be e.g. a good choice.
All congratulations to this group and of course especially to the photographer so that we can enjoy looking at these beautiful shots and to the one who devised this quite bold plan.

Very nice pictures! Just curious, with what camera or at least similar one could achieve such pictures? stars, snow,... gorgeous  ! Regarding TNP rangers it's also not clear to me?? lp

TNP rangers naturally chase such behavior, as we've seen from practice. dk, such photos you can make in combo with a top lens already with a much cheaper camera, like e.g. canon 550d, canon 7D and similar. True though, you need a bit more time for it (due to worse light sensitivity of the camera - mainly ISO). Mark 3 is top for poor light conditions and price matches.

The top TNP body even wrote in a statement that they chase camping. If now they also chase bivouacking under open sky in sleeping bag on long winter tour - then it's something new. You can shoot also with new iPhone, just more noise on the picture, which in its own way can be nice because it looks like there are more stars And 3 kg lighter backpack without tripod and camera is also its own kind of advantage.

Road over Vršič pass opened today. From Trenta direction completely dry, mornings may have ice from Šupce to pass.
Not much snow, good 30 cm. Up via "scree", below Grebenc some smaller drifts, above Grebenc old track visible, then more snow. Dry, wind made cornices still soft today. From Little Mojstrovka to Great then down ascent path. With wind, track probably windcrusted tomorrow.

Up to Little Mojstrovka it's really actually a highway, snow is compact and it went nicely with crampons, towards Great (today) fewer people went, but we also broke trail to the top. Snow is soft in places and you sink occasionally even to the waist in snow.
Also a video from today's ascent,...somewhere it looks steeper than it actually is....
