Velika and Mala Mojstrovka

In general, the gullies in the Vršič area are considerably easier than those in Begunjščica... the easiest, as said, is Pripravniška on MM, followed by Zupančičeva II-III, Butinarjeva is just a bit steeper in the middle (about 60°), but for me by far the nicest in the Vršič area is Uroševa grapa NŠG
the other gullies, by the rib, hidden, etc. are a bit harder than the first three...
I hope you're satisfied with the answer (all these gullies have already been skied)

On Sunday 22.01., the weather was excellent. Sun, a little wind on the summits, but nothing serious. We had a winter mountaineering course for demanding tours with PD Matica, the ascent went without problems with proper equipment. Greetings to all participants! Dario

At Vršič it was really wintry in the morning. We really didn't want to get out of the warm car, but once the old goats head to the mountains there's no retreat. We quickly geared up, then put on skis and headed up the scree. The snow was mostly hard and frozen, a bit chopped up, a bit wind-packed. Higher up we turned under the gullies. We chose the "Pripravniška". Skis went on backpacks, crampons on boots and ice axe in hand. The old gully is blown in, two spots with about a meter of rock, otherwise fine. We continued towards Velika Mojstrovka. Due to strong wind we left skis below the wall and headed for the summit. The view is what it is from there. Always nice and interesting. Followed descent down to skis, met two guys going up. Then prep for skiing, which was OK, and often much better. Sun didn't soften the snow at all. Behind Grebenc a few meters on foot because no snow, down the "plaz" it went fine, but need to watch out a bit, which is usual this winter. At the pass met Cici, short chat, then home.

Hi,
yesterday we climbed Butinar gully. Except one bare jump in upper third, conditions excellent. It can be bypassed nicely too. Started just after seven from Vršič, snow perfect . Preparatory OK in my view.

Yesterday via Preparatory gully to Velika Mojstrovka. Through gully like highway, 2 rocky jumps (unpleasant crampon scraping), otherwise snow fine, skied from top. It was quite nicely frozen. At car 10.50. Don't forget, windy too.

This morning I hesitated a bit, checked Kredarica camera, then straight to Vršič.
Weather almost perfect, clear, warm, with light breeze, total opposite of our forecasters' predictions.
In gully below Grebenc still some frozen snow, no trouble. Then higher into gully between Mojstrovkas, used plastic on continuous snow patches to upper ridge path. Traverse to Velika Mojstrovka to last steep bits not quite easy. Just before flattening on slope snow hollow-deep-layered frozen, so I stood only on feet kicked firmly in. Franci ahead maneuvered over big rock to right and reached summit without gear. From summit luxurious views with snowy ridge. Continued to Zadnja Mojstrovka, met Franci, descended to valley on visible crowded path across to Grebenc. Franci overtook me well downhill, I storked behind him with plastic on rocky scree.
Great tour with constant sun and some snow walking  .

Vršič lady, usually quite visited in winter, understandably was lonely today. Dressed in new white garments that thickened quickly, she gifted us a real winter tour.

Small and Big lady above Vršič showed herself to us today in all her winter beauty. On skis it went really comfortably, those without sank a bit, those who went through the "gullies" had fun too. At the top of the Small one it was blowing, I met only familiar faces. A little chat, a little photos, then I skied down to the basin on soft obedient powder, put on crampons and climbed up to the Big one too. First here in the innocent white too. Down in the basin crampons on again and up to the saddle between Small and Big. One more yay, down I met another group of tourers, it was so great that they went up once more too.

Today on Mojstrovkas there was a top selection of mountaineers. They were revealed by GV or GRS badges or just traces of their skis and footprints. Among others, I shook hands with Igor Z and we agreed that on such a sparkling day navigation aids are not needed, but besides the usual winter gear just good sunglasses
