Today on Baba. Nicest part for me is descent along the ridge to Jenkovo planina. Nice that markacists didn't equip it with pegs and cables.

I don't know why you walk secured mountain paths at all.  Every step could be glad that markacists didn't equip it with pegs and cables. But didn't go through Žrelo - though many went massively on Saturday? Impossible to tell a person anything...

ps. why not free climb those slabs? A meter or two away from the cables, nice climbing... and the path without dragging on cables

On Saturday we did an excellent loop tour, started at the parking lot by the cargo cableway, ascent via Slovenska route to Ledine, then summit push of Velika Baba with a stop at Bradavicka, views super. It was very windy at the summit, and not warm... Descent along the ridge to Jenkove planina and then back to the parking lot. Unfortunately, it's closed at Karničar, really a pity that these disagreements between the authority and him are happening. I hope they resolve. Also, protections are in perfect condition, but of course helmet use is mandatory at least. I recommend.

On Tuesday ridge traverse of Baba. Start at Jezersko, via Jenkova planina to Baba. Descent on Austrian side, ascent also to Ledinski vrh from there to Lenine and via Žrelo towards Jezersko. Path nice, varied, offers wonderful views. Via Žrelo runs new climbing path, well protected, but quite some scree on path (helmet mandatory) so extra caution needed. Best regards

I'd also like in reverse direction, over Žrelo and up climbing path, over ridge to Jenkova planina. Wondering where best to park so no long walk from or to car.

@milepetro Closest parking at arranged lot few minutes from cable car station, as in trip description. To lower station further gravel road, but those 5 mins no problem for you?

a) Isn't the "over Žrelo" path closed!?
b) If park at arranged parking before cable car, and descend via Jenkovo planina must walk back to car.

@mala paklenica, if you descend along the Baba ridge to Jenkova planina and continue from the planina left into the forest, you will soon reach the meadow below where the Gorniški center is. From the Gorniški center, just go left across the meadow and along the nicely arranged path to the parking. It's about five minutes to the parking. Everything is nicely marked, you can find path descriptions on this forum too.
