From Jezersko via Slovenian route to Ledine then via climbing path to Velika Baba and descent to valley via ridge over Jenkova planina was my yesterday's tour. Protections in perfect condition...no problems on ridge...descent from ridge to Jenkova planina on scree not very pleasant....Views from top fantastic nasmeh

I was also on Velika Baba on Sunday. We went from Jezersko Slovenian route to Kranjska hut on Ledine. Then via climbing path to top of Velika Baba.

Returned via Austrian side to Ledine, and then Slovenian to parking.

2 snowfields on trail but no winter gear needed for either. One at start of Slovenian path to Ledine, other on Austrian side right between Velika Baba and Ledinski vrh.

First snowfield after which the 'Slovenska' path to Ledine begins.

At the junction between Slovenska pot and Žrelo (which is still closed due to falling rocks!) in the notch I saw one 'mountaineer' who ignored the ban... :D

Helmet, harness and Y-set for ferrata warmly recommended.

Path section that is not crumbly (compared to the start).

On this path section no more protections but holds are very good and not very crumbly...

View towards the Austrian direction by which we will ascend to Jezersko sedlo. At the bottom of the photo, a short crossing of the snowfield is necessary. (no winter equipment required)

Koroška Rinka cannot be covered by clouds :)

Below the Skuta wall we noticed someone going up the snowfield. It was strange because there is no marked trail here.. It was a snowboarder who descended from almost the top of the snowfield all the way to Ledina... :D

Here the start of his descent is marked with an arrow... Strange why he chose to descend here. The surface has lots of rocks and falling stones could be heard from that side every now and then....

After 5 minutes we unfortunately also heard the helicopter arriving. At the hut they told us a woman had fallen and rescuers were taking her to Jesenice hospital. I hope she's okay..

There was also a party at Jezersko so we lingered a bit... :D And that's it from our trip to Velika Baba. Mountain greetings! :)

Yesterday I did a circular tour. To Ledine via Slovenian, V. Baba via ferrata, then Mrzla gora and over Križ back to Ledine. Weather and temperature fantastic for hiking, very few visitors. Path over gully closed due to falling rocks, so descended again via Slovenian to valley. Excellent strudel at Ledine nasmeh

On Sunday to Velika Baba via Jenkova planina along the ridge up and down via Jezersko saddle to Ledine. Super scenic circular route and after a long time a wonderful sunny day!

joste - as it looks the markings are new - so no problem with orientation. And what do you think, which direction is the route easier - the one you did or the opposite?

True, no issues with orientation. For the tour we did, this direction is better - so up the ridge and down the Austrian side to Jezersko saddle and Ledine. But if including the secured climbing route from Ledine, probably better the other way - up the climbing route and down the ridge to Jenkova planina.

Today I did a circular tour Ravenska Kočna - Jenkova planina - Mala Baba - Velika Baba - Jezersko saddle - Vadine - hunter's path to Davota. Conditions excellent, but due to fog views weren't the best. The path is well marked, but not easy, no pegs or wires. At some places (especially between the Babas) you have to be careful, as any smallest mistake can be fatal. Comparing routes to Baba, for me this ridge one is the hardest. The climbing path to the boulder is steep, but mistakes with SVK use aren't fatal.

Today on Velika Baba.. Up the Slovenian route to Ledine, then up the climbing route to Baba - down the ridge to Jenkova planina... Super weather.. smile

Opened the season in this part of the Alps. Up and down Slovenian to the summit then up ferrata back then Austrian side, which is still snowy. Climbing route is dry, gullies are snowy but nicely passable so winter gear stayed in backpack. Nice day

Today I did a nice loop above Jezersko. Due to some obligations I started late for my taste, just after nine. To Ledine via the Slovenian, then to the summit of Velika Baba via the climbing route. The path is nicely passable, here and there some softened snow, nothing special. Water was running on slabs, when I reached under the summit part of Velika Baba, a bit more of this new softened snow, but then the last part to the summit was better again. Descended via the ridge to Jenkova planina and then to the valley. At the start of the descent snow hindered a bit, as I looked for dry passages that were safer. Later ok. Nice tour with a nice end wink
