When do arnicas bloom on Velika Planina? I've never been to Velika Planina in summer. Arnicas bloom from May to August; during that time you'll surely find them on some other hill, alpine pasture too...

Read the laws about it a bit.
99% folk anyway doesn't know why arnica is used.

And Father Ašič warns that arnica is used only externally. Never cook it, but only steam it.
It is much stronger than chamomile or calendula. It is best to prepare it as a tincture.

After a long time I went hiking on Velika Planina again. Noticed that popular parking at Marjanine Njive,Kisovec junction is blocked, so weekends might have parking problems

This morning with my son Jošt we headed to Kranjski Rak and via Marijaninih Njiv up to Gojška Planina. Soon after the turn-off they are laying pipes along the track (electricity?), due to which the path is muddy and one needs to step aside into the hillside. After a few dozen meters it's normal again, some snow on the road, the path trodden. Soon via Gojška Planina up to Mala Planina and via Poljanski Rob to Gradišče (1666m), from where we had plenty to see today. Views fantastic, sun scorching, which was seen especially on descent as snow melting fast (lower parts already mud).
Path very easy, so dear parents kids together, off to our nice planinas. LP Andrej

Instead of riddles here are current conditions from Velika Planina today, no snow down below up ca 10 cm pure new. Not mentioning fog, but still it was nice as always on this planina. Trying to upload pics from phone direct to hribi.net but it's not it, first one from phone not ok, text goes..

Today sunny on Velika Planina, towards noon cirrus clouds started appearing from west. Snow as everywhere lots, so lots of powder which is tiring for hiking. Path trodden to Marija Snežna further no, a bit more to Zeleni rob but no as it collapsed. Path otherwise snowcatted to hut on Mali Planina, further no. Looks like not started preparing tracks yet. Strong southwesterly blowing carrying snow nicely so track soon covered.
