I see trash on the mountain also as "current conditions". Traffic issues also as "current conditions". Regarding that, weekends and holidays need proper attention so no accident happens. So pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and car drivers must realize we're not alone on the road and that it's narrow and caution is needed. Secondly, "current conditions" regarding trash> let's ensure VP doesn't drown in trash and act before it's too late So if you see some trash just pick it up. That's how it is, Slovenes if we see something we rather look away. But that little box or paper will stay there till next time you go there.

But some really think of themselves as at least the Dalai Lama, right? What do you think "current conditions" on VP and everywhere else were 20 years ago. And what do you think they'll be in 20 years. SOME TRASH will always be there, because you simply can't raise awareness of all people (of course I allow the possibility that in 20 years every m2 will be under cameras, but that's not the point). IF you're getting upset, do it where you'll reach the target audience.

I'm not at least the Dalai Lama, I'm more than the Dalai Lama What encouragement to pick up some more trash, it doesn't hurt anyway, right Dijana?

Of course the morning was much nicer than the afternoon, but we need to care for others too, not just own ego ... While driving towards Bistrica I observe heavy black clouds piling over Konec and reconcile myself with the fact that it'll rain on me again. Fair enough. What can one do. Before Kraljev Hrib on nice forest road I head to start of today's tour. Path over Rigelj is well trodden and brings the mountaineer without major issues to edge of Planina. Nothing essential to add here. Of course every responsible hiker gets basic info on path at first approach. For myself maybe add only that this time I really didn't want to bypass that prominent rock 'tower' on edge by the path, which I haven't climbed till today. Well, this time I finally tackled it. One can somehow climb to top, just today in wet (after shower) it slipped a lot. (very demanding). On Planina due to weather there was real dead quiet and initial plan I quickly changed to backup ... During descent to upper station of gondola a forester felling trees addresses me: "Gondola not working!", he adds friendly. "OK", I reply and say my intentions are different. Behind station I find steep forest slope allowing descent. First follow wire stretched between trees showing easiest way to lower part, at its end need to grab some meters oneself. By the way, already before descent start proper rain starts soaking me, making the most demanding descent part even harder. Rely on acquired experience. Below prominent beech I cross left to grassy terrain with steep sections 'adorned' by more demanding jumps. All can be overcome without major issues, just need sharp calm eye. Of course in wet it's all much more demanding. Below safely enter flatter forest and randomly follow forgotten marker which surprisingly leads straight to car! What a soaked to the bone little life, joys! ... P.s. True, older map editions of these areas even show path of mentioned direct descent under gondola, but caution! That path is gone long ago! Altogether it's pathless terrain requiring experience! Cheers.

Again wasting time instead of doing something smarter. 22.5.2010 I invite you to the cleanup action on Velika, Mali and Gojški planina, in short everywhere on the planina from Raka to Šimnovec. Details on PD Bajtar.si.

Does that mean the cleanup on Mali planina has to be done by 11 a.m. (and so on), so that the collected trash actually gets hauled away?

Probably you are blind or can't see well. There really is no stamp in the box but right next to it on that curved stick, you just need the pad, otherwise look properly then comment. It seems to me that you don't go to the mountains much, there are quite a few peaks equipped with such a stamp.

Don't be in a bad mood, some are not yet used to such novelties in the mountains, it's harder to carry it down to the valley that way. LP!
