if the road is plowed it's drivable with winter tires but not salted so be careful, drivable to Rakovih Ravni (PESKOKOP)

Today our path led from Stahovica, over Sv. Primož, past Jarški dom and shepherds to Zeleni rob. This is the least trodden path, yet still enough. Just stick to trodden paths, because in deep snow you sink to your ass and more. Today it was heavenly beautiful, such weather expected tomorrow. Just head up, you won't regret it.

Velika Planina is always something special in winter, weather favorable, many skiers on the piste, no lack of ski tourers, snow mushy so walking strenuous, no proper tracks even yesterday. Nice vibe in Domžale hut and mask fun at a hut, private or not doesn't matter, offered mulled wine too...

In the morning with a colleague on touring skis to Velika Planina (Mali Planina). According to forecast it was supposed to blow, but it wasn't -5°C cloudy but then it cleared up more and it was really great.

My little brown one didn't let me rest again. Half asleep it rolled towards familiar meadows and dropped me into a real proper frost (-12 degrees C), but the thought of March subtracted some degrees right away. Quickly get feet moving and after five minutes the heart did its job. Blood boiling... from joy as the eye could gaze at colorful horizons and the nose melted all the cold into a warm experience. No, I wasn't dreaming. Snow quite decent for walking, no sinking, on top a few cm of "fresh cream", SW breeze waking up.
In short, morning planina like a paradise lounger. Peace and beauty aplenty, soul cool and happy. But already looking over the edge the eye sees, hand notes, heart confirms that tall Lekov chimneys on Mengeš field never give man so much balm as we enjoy in mountains. Well, just get up early and we're off...

And one more question, looking at your pictures... Is it possible at all to take a bad photo on Velika Planina? One picture prettier than the other!

I don't think it's impossible to make a bad pic on Velika Planina. I'll post mine too from early February, when dad and I took advantage of a really super slightly windy day

Well, judging by some excited comments on total 'miss' shots, sometimes I really don't get it. 
From a photo perspective, this portal has many good pictures, even more bad ones, excellent very few. 
But Velika Planina with its beautiful surroundings is undoubtedly more than a grateful 'model'.

When watching old-style skiers' videos, I noticed most awards taken by grče. Suggest next year competition only for locals, others wait if anything left. Nice greeting.
