On 30.10. I walked the circular path starting at Rudno Polje, headed to Viševnik, descent to Srenjski preval (some light snow - no panic), then to Mali Draški vrh and on to Veliki Draški vrh. Then descent to pl. Jezerca and back to start. The path was sunlit, practically no ice except on descent to pl. Jezerca. Very nice circular path with great views and warm mountain sun.

Can anyone say if the road on Pokljuka is drivable all the way to the end below pl. Konjšica? Is the snow to Veliki Draški vrh frozen or sinking or is there a track? Thanks.

During preparations for the Biathlon World Cup you won't get by car further than the center, and even then there are cross-country tracks in that area. You'll have to wait for spring. For the start you'll need another starting point. But conditions above 1500m are variable (crusty frozen snow with dry snow on top which is blown and drifted in places).

On Sunday we went along the path above Konjščica to Srenjski preval and Viševnik back to Rudno polje. Up to the junction with planina Konjščice snow is no obstacle, then more and more. The guy we met just before the ski area who went to Studorski preval said he was wading snow up to his ass in places, then turned back due to wind. Us too from Jezerca to Srenjski weren't spared, somewhere to ankles, somewhere much deeper. Luckily we hit a track from Viševnik at the top so we did a loop and didn't have to go back the same way. Well, it really sank up to the ass here and there, mostly (only) to the knees. Same conditions ahead from the pass toward Vodnikov dom. Nice but very tiring...

Beautiful day to skip, before work obligations a quick trip to the mountains. Such clean air and clarity that all beaten paths were visible. Now I know jan71 was the one climbing from Srenjski preval to MDV At the summit I was alone peacefully looking at occupied Viševnik, two dashed up eastern gully to Tosc and crowded highway to Kredarica. VDV windblown, frozen, even icy, windless, part of descent in summit section done searching better snow-filled passages.

Today we were at Great Draški Peak. We started from Rudno polje. The path to Jezerc above Konjščica is well trodden. To Studorski preval the snow is hard and wind quickly covers tracks. Little snow, bad for touring skis too. Towards the summit snow is hard and windblown. Nice day and at the summit we enjoyed almost no wind.
