Today to the Julian Alps, specifically from the "end of the road on Pokljuka" to VDV. Beautiful weather in the morning, later a few clouds appeared but they didn't spoil the sky much. Wind moderate and only on the ridge. Snow partly in the "basin" on the path from Jezerc to Studorski preval, southern aspect and almost no postholing. Crampons not needed. From Studorski preval onwards to VDV the path is dry. On the return I also climbed Ablanca. The path there is also BP. Met about 20 hikers. Nice tour, I recommend it nasmeh

From Rudno polje via Kačji rob to Srenjski preval. Then right to Mali Draški vrh. Only at the summit did the fog occasionally clear.
Then I continued along the ridge to Veliki Draški vrh. There too I stuck to the ridge with nice views towards Triglav and occasionally towards Krma.
At the summit there was a nice scene, when the upper fog layer dropped to around 2400m, the lower one rose to around 2200m.
Back via the eastern slope to the path to Srenjski preval and along the approach path to the start. The path is everywhere without issues.nasmeh

Late afternoon I decided to go to Tosc, but I got a bit messed up and reached Veliki Draški vrh nasmeh. I started the path at Rudno polje, then via Jezerc to Studorski preval and then along the ridge to the summit. Some snow on Jezercah and then towards the pass, further on just traces, the last 200 m of elevation gain are dry.

From Rudno polje first to Studorski preval, from there to Ablaco, then to Great Draški Peak. We continued / with Metod / over Srenjski preval also to Little Draški Peak. Crazy, beautiful, warm, views to nil. Path snowy in some parts but no crampons or ice axe needed.

Yesterday we got another gorgeous hiking day, and I used it fully with a loop tour. Morning from Rudno polje over Jezerc and Studorski preval along ridge to VDP, then nice secured traverse to Srenski preval, descent via valley behind Viševnik back to Rudno polje. Views lavish all around, perfect clarity, all paradisiacal incl. misty sea. Can't miss such day for the soul!

Yesterday to VDV via Jezerc and Studorski preval to summit and loop down over Srenski preval and Viševnik back to Rudno polje...weather excellent,sunny and windless...

To VDV around the smoothed road to Konjščica where I warmed up peacefully. Meanwhile I watched the thickly snow-covered Bohinj ridge. The pasture is all snowed over, easy crossings between deep gullies. Morning snow dry, Pokljuka -3C with some diffuse and high-altitude fog. Around 11 sun broke through, warmed fast uphill properly sweating the forehead. Four locals ahead, at Studorski saddle I just up. Snow crusted quickly, less toward the top where a light cooler breeze came up. Triglav realm with Kanjavec fully snow blanketed all around. No tracks to Kredarica from Krma. Afternoon local thunder from walls of Rjavina, Vernar and below from MDV, so skipped reascent to Srenjski saddle. Descent from the summit roof great at the start, enjoyable, lower too much loaded soft scraped heavy snow, lower crusty poetry, below Studorski bands of harder and softer snow, evenly wind-packed. Despite thaw descent to Konjščica far better than mere survival.
In future it may still avalanche from steep couloirs! Lpnasmeh

From Srenjsko climbed the ridge to Višenik and skied to the car.

Today on VDV. Up from west, col between Tosc and VDV, back east side to Jezerca. Not far visibility today but nice short tour nasmeh

Nice sunny day to start. Then clouds covered the sky and sun shone again at end. Path nice safe no issues but caution needed as always in mountains. More at: http://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/128177/
