Hi. Zalas, if you were in the company of three more hikers, then we really met at Kal saddle. Otherwise there was quite a crowd up there - great weather too, today in this cold, I kinda miss the sunshine. Lp

Today I visited Rogač. The road from the end of the asphalt onwards is impassable and will be so for some time. Because of that the hike got much longer.
Up past Špeh, descent to Kal. No snow at all.

Fire on Rogatec pictured from Planjava this morning.
In the Veliki Rogatec area in Luče municipality, overnight the fire spread to two hectares total area due to wind, due to wind and thermals it steadily spreads to the right and left sides of the slope and towards the top. Fire doesn't threaten objects, but can spread widely to spruce forest and into crowns. Since extinguishing with firefighting units on the ground isn't possible and the helicopter for extinguishing during the day wasn't available, firefighters from Luče and Gornji Grad monitored the fire, as reported by the Administration of the RS for Protection and Rescue. Luče firefighters as needed prevented fire spread under the forest road on the slope, Gornji Grad firefighters monitored spread on the mountain's east side.

On Saturday my wife and I went to Rogatec past Zg. Špeh, where we observed from afar and filmed a group of four chamois.
We started at the no driving sign, where it's a 20-minute walk to the chapel, in cloudier weather. At the chapel it was already sunny and warm, and only a bit below the summit it clouded over again. Just above the chapel there are still some storm damages. Up in the forest there's still quite a lot of snow, unfortunately so soft that it sinks in considerably and walking is quite tricky (luckily not dangerous). The little dog with us had no such issues due to low weight (7kg).
Up top it was windy, we quickly snacked just below the summit and descended, where the sun shone again. We spotted one hiker (with dog) on Lepenatka, otherwise we were alone all day.

Today for the first time on Rogac. Up from the end of the road to saddle Kal, then past bivouac on climber's path and exposed ridge to summit. Down past Planina Špeh.
Exceptional! Really can't remember when a mountain excited me so much. Climbing section all natural, just a few pegs, the hill itself exceptional, untouched, green... Phenomenal.
Bivouac is a world unto itself... It was open and locals showed it to us gladly. One wants to sleep in it... Maybe in the future...
