Vukovivek great, congratulations. I'm interested if you have data on the trail length (since you attached GPS track on picture 19 you probably do?) and elevation gain you did on this loop trail.

Vukovivek, we really had a super tour on Sunday in great weather. We two then successfully extended to Tosc, where the sun already started hiding a bit behind layered clouds and it got cold quickly. Short-sleeved T-shirt from Veliki Draški vrh was replaced by windbreaker, gloves, cap and scarf... big grin

For the whole route from Rudno polje over five two-thousanders we counted good 1,800m elevation of ascent and descent, on return we just caught the last light (around 17.15). So this year probably not many such opportunities anymore - maybe for very fast ones if weather holds...

Oh, and sorry that on all pics with you in foreground my backpack landed too! winking

@vukovivek - Thanks for info. I walked the trail on Sunday, during the way my phone battery failed, so I couldn't record distance and elevation to the end. One more of my photos.

Yesterday three of us walked the trail from Pokljuka to Ablanca, Veliki and Mali Draški vrh and back to Pokljuka. Took about 7 hours for the trail, elevation difference 1100 m. Weather was fantastic.

Yesterday I started with Viševnik where I waited for the sun, then over Srenjski preval crossed the slope of MDV and continued to VDV. Left the summit quickly because of wind and climbed up the ridge of MDV to its top.
Descent over Srenjski preval and Kačji rob to Pokljuka cheering for biathletes.
The whole trail is mostly dry with some ice sections in shady areas which can be avoided.nasmeh

Franci, picture 12 looks like somewhere in Saharabig grin.I think we'll conserve the skis for 2017, because even in January there's no sign of first snow base in the mountainswinking.

Franci, I see you didn't need crampons. And from Viševnik to Srenjski preval and on to MDV is there any ice or snow? Really nice pics.

Up to Srenjski saddle you step on snow a few times, further on it's all bare.

For descent (or ascent) from Srenjski saddle to Jezera need some caution, snow is hard. Also descent from Viševnik below Plesišče to Rudno polje is icy. Microspikes more than recommended.

From Rudno polje today via Jezerca and Studorski saddle to Great Draški Peak, then crossed below Little Draški Peak to Srenjski saddle, up to MDV and via Viševnik back to Rudno polje. Path entirely bare except section from Jezerca to Studorski saddle with hard snow. Extremely warm and completely windless.

Today fantasy up top. Expected lots of people.
In between some 10m for easier walking, if you have them mini crampons come in handy. Possible without but very carefully, even with poles much easier. Today some of them (us velik nasmeh) slipped..

Hard to decide if this weather is really phenomenal or something seriously wrong with it. Today early morning trip to Great Draški Peak with classic company of eight-legged quasipet. (Over)warm for this period - around 4:30 just below zero. By noon numbers already double digits. Occasionally cooler gust, but no noteworthy wind.

Sunrise on summit, except two neighbors on Tosc, no living soul - peace, enjoyment. Couple hours later classic weekend rush.

Initial part above Konjščica completely bare. At lower Jezerca some snow, higher more accumulated - most doesn't sink. From Studorski saddle to summit practically all bare path (here and there piece of snow/ice).

Snow below saddle soft enough for relatively safe steps but I put on small crampons anyway - better safe. Heartily!

Wonderful this combination of mountains and starry sky! On one side western sky with Triglav and moon in background, on the other side MDV and Viševnik (pic 6) with Lyra constellation on horizon! Dogs truly winterly enliven this primal nature.

Gofra, essential. You'll see how it enriches your hikes, evening or morning. Start learning today. You can start like this: go to google and type "Night sky above your municipality" and it shows all constellations at that time. Good basis, wish you much joy recognizing stars in nature!
