anyway welcome info from previous days... but still I'm curious if anyone walked these paths yesterday or is/will today... are there still more like non-winter conditions?... even if e.g. some new snow falls (supposedly not tonight, right?), does some section become one needing real extra caution?... well, tempts me to go tomorrow... hike start hope by 11.30, return probably in dark... btw. ice axe and crampons will be present anyway.

If you ask me, then the second variant. The first drags a bit towards Tosc pasture, less scenic and shadier too... Plus with second variant easier to shorten if needed...

I went Monday past Kačji rob behind Viševnik to Big Selišnik - Draški rob - to ridge on MDV - Viševnik - Kačji rob... behind Viševnik is fridge!... snow mostly only there... ridge MDV to VDV nice, as traverse below... up there autumn... On Tuesday they went to Tosc and snow only on Jezerci toward Studorski pass... no new snow fell at all and there won't be today either...

On Monday from Rudno polje past the ski lifts to Viševnik, then Srenjski pass - MDV - Srenjski pass - Kačji rob - Rudno polje. Some snow only in shady spot under Viševnik, on path between Srenjski pass and Kačji rob, but no issues.

Finally free day to post blog and this note.

Last days we more or less poked around Viševnik - mostly steep forests and safer flanks.

But yesterday we finally got suitable (read quantity) conditions for skiing from Sleme - Ablanca ridge. Waited 3 years for this. Terrain like those in Japan, Alaska... finally!

Snow huge of course, YUHEJ!, pure powder like not for a long time, temps right, visibility good those days... anyway, unforgettable days!

On Sunday to Ablanca via Gamsova gully and continuation to VDV. In Gamsova gully mostly slush. Quite a bit sinking in. Gully well filled, no jumps.

Yesterday to Ablanca through Gamsova gully, weather excellent and very hot, conditions in gully ok, snow not best but not unusual.

is that tour "Rudno polje - Viševnik(2h - easy marked path)" suitable without ice axe? velik nasmeh Never been there...

Pl.Konjščica and along Slemena ridge all to Ablanca, descent and further along ridge to Mali Draški vrh, finally ascent to Viševnik, almost no wind, warm for this time.

Today we did a loop from Ablanca to Viševnik, skipped MDV. Start Pokljuka towards Studorski preval, then to Ablanca along ridge to VDV and then path to Srenjski preval also to Viševnik. Weather wonderful no breath of wind, but paths on certain shady parts well icy. Met nice number of hikers, lively on Pokljuka.

Maybe on New Year's Eve to a 2000m peak and Mali Draški vrh in mind. Start hiking around 8am.

a) Pokljuka Rudno polje – Kačji rob – Srenjski preval –...
b) Pokljuka Rudno polje – west above Pl.Konjščica – Jezerce – Srenjski preval -...
c) End of road Pokljuka – Pl. Konjščica - Jezerce – Srenjski preval -...

Is last part from Srenjski preval, the ''demanding unmarked trail'' considering probable Dec 31 conditions (snow?, ice?) and hribi.net description still too demanding for someone returning to high mountains soon after leg fracture recovery? Probably even harder to descend, right? Maybe issues already on way to Srenjski preval? On normal trails I've been ok for a month now even longer. Have prior experience all terrains.

Reserves: Ogradi, Rodica, Struška, Dovška baba, Hruški vrh, Virnikov grintovec, Pršivec, Jerebikovec, Lajnar

Even if path goes through planina Konjščica, park at Rudno polje by hotel, road closed ahead due to ski tracks.
