Vrh Ljubeljščice (Triangel)

The ascent via the S gully to Vrtača was planned, but due to bad weather the plan was changed to Ljubelj. To Zelenica through the forest, then also to Triangel and further to Spodnji Plot. Chamois are calling all the time, because they are obviously mating. The weather wasn't favorable - when else!

Compared to the summer, Zelenica was deserted yesterday. Likewise its house peaks. Sadly we left skis at home (why?) so on Triangel we waded ass-deep in places. We apologize to all future "tourers" as we badly holed the track. Otherwise supply road is ratracked, hut closed. lp d

On the "ratrak road" you can walk without major sinking. Snow on yesterday's night (foggy) tour below southern, approx. from Vrtača hut onwards dry. Hut at Zelenica supposedly, rumor says, getting new warden. And in interregnum time obviously issues with functioning...

A small hint to Darja When I go on foot to Triangel in winter, I go along the EDGE of the ski slope so as not to do any "damage"; when I go with touring skis, I go in the middle, and there are no holed tracks... I know, same debate every year... lp

Hehe, I know... next time when the track is holed, I'll complain about "piste spoilers". Actually, we meant to check Suho ruševje, but then we turned towards Triangel according to the conditions. lp d

Well, you turned to the ridge from Spodnji Plot, Čez Plot to Čez Može and to Palec. Or something like that. Triangel is just the ski slope above the hut at Zelenica.

Since I also circled around there on Sunday, just more in the forest above Stari Ljubelj, I must say conditions really wintery regarding snow.

Šodrovc - thanks for the corrections (and Mr. Klinar of course) For me, one l was walking too much... I, of course, also have trouble trying to erase triangel from memory. I hope I'll remember Ljubeljščica

@Šodrovc thanks for the explanations. You really are an excellent expert of this area. Well, probably some others too. But Triangel please stay. It's so "homely". best d

Today at the start of snowfall on Triangel. On top about 10 cm fell in a good hour and a half. Hut is open on weekends. To middle of lower cableway nice to ski, of course on service road, lower quite scratchy under sajjihniškoda dile.
