...On this path you really can't complain about the crowds. Up and down I didn't meet anyone except a shepherd on the pasture. The path is really steep, but beautiful and well marked, the views are fantastic. You're so close to those mountains that they overwhelm you. You can mentally climb Triglav from all three valleys Vrat, Kot and Krma velik nasmeh

- Rjavina, V. Špice, Cmir and of course Triglav

- By the road, when returning to the car

No crowds really, I was up there three weeks ago on Saturday, despite nice weather I didn't meet anyone and made a detour to Votlo Sleme and Vrtaški vrh. Really a somewhat neglected mountain with wonderful views all around. Well, it suited some solitude perfectly zavijanje z očmi

And at the end beer at Peričnik and soaking - cooling feet in the Bistrica (Triglav) :))

When you reach the ridge - saddle to Sleme (Vrtaško) left 5 min. to the top, if you go right then 10 minutes to Votlo Sleme. Opposite direction from your 5th picture. Actually it's one ridge with three peaks (Sleme).

On the left is Vrtaško Sleme, on the right Votlo Sleme (viewed from Vrataška planina)

A small pedantic correction to the caption of the upper photo. The photographer's position is not on Vrtaška Planina as one might understand, but above Njivice or on the western slope below Vrtaški Vrh.

Drobeče Sleme is located in the same ridge as Vrtaško Sleme. When you come from Njivice to the ridge, the left path leads to Vrtaško, the right path to Drobeče Sleme (2029m). The latter peak is only a good five minutes from the mentioned junction. But it is hidden among the brushwood and you have to find the passages yourself. On the marked summit there is a summit book and a cow bell that you can ring.

...Thanks to all three. I read the route description for Drobeče Sleme, I didn't know about it before. But I'm interested if this mountain on the right also has a name, the little path is clearly visible, thanks in advance...Majda

- The mountain in the middle - does it perhaps have a name?

On the map (still from the previous country) peak Sleme 2076 m and Votlo Sleme 2031 m are marked. Yes there is another peak in between with a bell in the brushwood which is somewhere in between in height - at least by my altimeter (that will probably be Drobeče Sleme). Yes, of course, true, the upper (my) picture was taken at Njivice, right before the start of the ascent to Vrtaški Vrh. zavijanje z očmi

This behind me (5 min. ahead) is Votlo Sleme

Starting point avalanche Črlovec towards Kukova Špica, then up right on unmarked trail to Sleme. Somewhat like PP this path, there are some dots along the way, recommend, time around 3 hours ascent and 2 hours descent, I did the tour much faster though.

There zigzag, a bit down, a bit up, then along the Vrata valley, the path doesn't go over any rocks, no helmet needed, the path is traceable.

Here the path branches, left KUKOVA, right SLEME.

I'm wondering what the cable car they're building on the lower side of Vrtaška Planina is intended for.

Yesterday I was at Vrta Pasture via hunter's path from Peričnik. Really very lonely hike - maybe even too much. Then I strolled to Vrta Peak too.

Yesterday on the ridge above Mojstrana. Start from Mojstrana just after eight. Fog lingered long, cleared only at Njivice pasture. On return, since still early, I went to Vrta Peak too. Uphill path through scree quite an adrenaline rush, lots of blind tracks mežikanje

, so wandered a bit, but finally reached top. Down via unmarked - thanks to predecessors for track, else wouldn't dare. nasmeh

Won't talk about conditions, they'll be different today anyway, only winter gear not needed. Ice on path most trouble (small crampons handy). Oh, exactly 6 of us at ridge top yesterday. Really beautiful day.

Ascent in the fog, nevertheless it was nice

The most beautiful part, when you know you've finally peeked out of the fog

Especially when it cleared up down there too :)

I was also at the summit on Saturday. When fog cleared it was really beautiful, as seen from cebelca's pics.

I went today only to the hut at Vrata Pasture. At the hut two told me someone went to the ridge on skis. So apparently it's doable with skis, or snowshoes. The winter path is a bit different than the summer one.
To Peričnik it's also possible right of the hut, facing Vrata valley. But in winter it's dangerous due to avalanches.
Anya, did you slide down with some sled or shovel? nasmeh

Got a bit lost among all these ridges nasmeh

Can anyone tell where (which ridge) this famous Jalovec pic was taken? Probably not right from top but lower? Can anyone say how to reach that nice viewpoint?
