Today from Mojstrana to Vrta Ridge. Path without special features, just that slope from Mojstrana seems endless. There is some snow, it can be avoided. But as a warning for other hikes - it stayed hard all day, winter gear is mandatory for walking on snow.

Slemenova špica is more famous, but also on Vrta Ridge there is a real splendor of autumn colors.

From Mojstrana to Sleme, path nicely passable, dry. At the top cold and dress quickly.

I join Blaž's note on Vrtaški Sleme, as I stood on it the same Monday as him. Only my path was substantially different, as seen from the first picture. I like discovering lesser-known paths and off-trail routes. Attaching some more of my pics.nasmeh

Yesterday to Vrta Ridge from Mojstrana. Upper half of the path to Vrtaška planina VERY icy, microspikes almost mandatory. The whole path to Sleme well trodden, back via Vrtaški vrh too. Quite wet, snowballs forming constantly (maybe better without spikes?).

Hi, does anyone know if the path is already passable without winter gear?

10 euros applies to campers, for personal vehicles I think it's 5 euros... Tables are different, your pic shows camper.

Now I'm at Jerebikovec. As far as I can see, Vrtača Ridge is slightly covered with snow on the summit section.

The path is passable, some snow patches can be crossed without problem. And don't forget to pay parking in Mojstrana.. on return quite a few cars had fines.

Yesterday to Vrtača Ridge and another peak in this ridge, but don't know if it was Drobeče or Votlo Sleme. On the latter no bell or summit logbox as in description for Drobeče Sleme, only cairn.
Path from Mojstrana without issues, warm day with distant views. To Vrtaška Planina as always very steep, above junction for Vrtaški Vrh, above Njivice meadow, larches already nicely coloring. Wonderful viewpoint! nasmeh

KarmenT, I was searching for that Drobeče or Votlo Sleme. Then once I finally found it. Above that scree field when descending from Sleme and it's in view. Attaching pics for easier idea, good luck.nasmeh
- Above this scree Votlo Sleme hides..1
- A few meters along the trail then upwards..2
- Then to the left and the hiding spots end..3

Majdag, thanks! We'll look for it next time. Don't know though what the far right part of the Sleme ridge is. Looks like some garden, there's a cairn on it and nice viewpoint. nasmeh

Some snapshots from Saturday's nice hike to Vrtaško Sleme, Votlo Sleme and Vraški vrh. Path itself without special features, except first hour of walking when we gnaw our knees. On top wonderful views.

Nice mountaineering regards.

Today in family group we did wonderful ascent from Črlovec to Vrtaško Sleme. Trail is traceable all the time and met no one on it, first hikers only on marked trail from Mojstrana. At top excellent visibility, many peaks around nicely dusted with snow. Kukova had some too and hikers at car told us it complicated descent somewhat.
Morning view of Gulce1
Triglav already looked quite seriously snow-covered.2
SE view of Kukove špice3
This is right after crossing Malega Črlovca, obviously a shortcut to the summit. It looked trodden.4
Crossing towards Njivice5
Along the path we met a herd of chamois.6

Start in Mojstrana, via Vrtaška planina on the old path to Vrtaški vrh, from there to Votlo sleme and to Vrtaško sleme. Path without peculiarities, no snow. The unmarked path to Vrtaški vrh I found quite easily, which surprised me as I usually get lost quickly... Animals have trodden certain parts nicely, so the paths are clearly visible.
Return via Vrtaška planina towards Črlovec. The path is very tricky in some parts due to leaves, high chance of slipping and quickly ending up in the valley. Also harder to follow in places, I missed a junction and went towards upper Rovt... As the path became less trodden, I realized I messed up and had to go back to the right junction. At the bridge over the stream below I decided not to go to Črlovec but headed back to Mojstrana. On the map I saw two forest paths marked - chose the upper one, big mistake as it's a narrow forest trail full of leaves and roots directly above high cliffs. Struggled and sweated over nasty sections for a while, alarms in my head, until a flatter spot. Ahead the same with cliffs, so after map check went straight down through the forest to the lower path which soon reached the road.
A bit of an adrenaline rush, nice trip.

That trail above the cliffs is a bit nasty at times yeahnasmeh otherwise if you continued on that path the precipices end a bit further, then nice trail ahead (at least used to be), somewhere between Ros and Mojstrana you reach the road. But last year lots of fallen trees across that path. Don't know how it is now, haven't been there this year. Lp
