@viharnik, that winter was '86/87, when so much snow fell. Even schools were closed for 2 days. I haven't seen that much snow in the lowlands either before or after. But there was such a dry winter in '75, I remember, when there was no artificial snow, cams, internet,..., when we arrived in February at the green Soriska plain, how to ski then, so we just turned back easily.

Can I ask you to measure the snow in height and not in width So that it doesn't pile up too much

Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 7 a.m. Observation station Snow height in cm Kredarica 100 Vogel 60 Lisca 34 Kočevje 25 Vojsko 25 Let.Cerklje obKrki 23 Rateče 22 Katarina nad Lj. 21 So, ARSO says "only" 21 cm at LG's coordinates. Or are they measuring with the wrong meters? Turbo, let's wait a bit instead, maybe some Slovenian drift even reaches half a meter? Let's be patient and learn.

Well there is! Come up, take a meter with you, measure, it will show you around 35cm, because the first settled, new one today was around 20 cm. And don't look at ARSO because there's no data from our area, Katarina above Lj. is also right at the other end of the mountains. Drifts currently well exceed 1 meter. Regarding that, Oblak69 can confirm on Zevs forum too.

@Hribovc88 I measured something like that too. Maybe we are close to the gauge. Will you arrange sunshine for tomorrow so we can go somewhere.

Frost continues, in the mountains it was blowing and making drifts, or maybe someone knows what the conditions should be like, say on Stenar, Špik, Palec/Zelenjak or on Grintovec, because even here it's blown to the ground in places and piled lots of snow. - General avalanche danger is moderate, i.e. level 2 on the European five-level scale. - New snow has not bonded with the old, crusted base. - Mainly dangerous are places with wind-packed snow and steep slopes. There, even with a small additional load on the snowpack, you can trigger an avalanche. Spontaneous avalanching is mostly not expected. On wind-scoured places there is a danger of slips.
