Weather, weather forecast, danger...

We've sent you plenty of thunderstorms down and further, even that one years ago that wrecked everything at Gozd went over us, just with heavier downpour and wind gusts, thunderstorms lose power here, then strengthen down there and BUM it uproots trees, rips off roofs. But we have problems with lightning, if something isn't switched off it fries, years ago lightning struck the house, and in the barn it completely splintered a beam, lightning went to the concrete and through the rebar into the barn interior, where part of the plaster fell from the ceiling, lightning was a watery one, even years ago a hen went to the larch to lay eggs and one day lightning hit that larch good thing that hen wasn't there then or it'd be completely smoked, otherwise they have interventions almost every year when a hayrack, barn... burns, you probably read the news, when it thunders don't do anything outside, immediately to safe shelter before problems can arise.

on ilmeteo it said rain on Ankogel at 14.00 28.7.2012, but they were wrong. It was hail. Otherwise really mostly accurate to the hour.

@robter: on ilmeteo it said there would be rain on Ankogel 28.7.2012 at 14.00, but they were wrong. It was hail. That's why it's good to have a helmet with you

Winter winter white, sitting on the mountain top...after this scorching summer, autumn and winter will be a real balm for hiking, MTB and TK-Mountain

A cold front will pass over Slovenia in the night to Thursday, cooling down. The snow line may temporarily drop below 1500 meters above sea level. Afterwards, calm autumn weather with morning fog in the lowlands is expected. There will still be many nice and warm autumn days.

What's going on with our weather forecasters? This year they've missed several times already. Is someone messing with their data or what? Looks like we'll have to rely again on our own judgment, locals' forecasts and foreign media forecasts!

dprapr, it's really strange what's happening to them lately. Luckily ilmeteo didn't err, today was really a great day for the mountains.

I too wonder why they forecast weather at all if they can't hit even a one-day ahead forecast (e.g. ARSO)? True, weather in high mountains changes quickly, but this really isn't anything like it...Probably I'm not the only one without mountains right in front of my nose and if you want to use the day for full-day tour (as you naively rely on good weather forecast), it feels a bit unfair, as in the end most of the tour in fog and you see nothing..

I think meteorologists do their best with their abilities and modern tech capabilities. You need to know weather is hard to forecast when a cyclone edge is over us that can quickly shift dozens of km left or right from predicted path and thus hit or miss half or whole Slovenia. Imagine what you'd drag unnecessarily to mountains if no one forecasted weather at all. So less smart-alecking about it and you unsatisfied with forecasters, forecast it yourselves.
