@jedriličar, ARSO always has to be taken with reserve, as already written. From my experience Italians or foreigners almost always hit better than ARSO.

I agree about ARSO... Many times lately completely off...

I'm curious what they miss so terribly "almost always".

I have to say I noticed last week that they were off with the rain exactly by 1 day delay

Guys, you slightly misunderstood my question. I'm less interested in whether and how ARSO is, more in whether you trust the Italians who constantly give one degree less than ARSO or not? And what do you think about the reliability of their bulletin, because if we compare it, say, with the Karawanks bulletin, there's a visible difference in the avalanche level, but I think on the terrain it's not quite like that. That's more interesting than how much and if ARSO failed...

jedriličar: I seriously think the question could be addressed directly to ARSO? Answer (hope you get it) will surely be professional.. at least that's expected.. gp.arso@gov.si that's my suggestion lp

When I go to the mountains, I first check wetterzentrale prognostic models. Here you can look at the weather in more detail for a few days, like temperature, amount of precipitation, thunderstorm chance, wind etc. So I know what awaits me in the mountains Page: www.wetterzentrale.de When you open wetterzentrale, go to GFS-ENS, then to GFS (on the left side) and find what interests you. Most precise forecasts up to 4-5 days, the rest always changes, GFS maps go up to 15 days.

In France at ski resort - La Rosiere - at Bernardo pass 2180m quite some April snow fell. It's also snowing in the valley before Val d'Isere in village Brevieres 1550m. Looks like winter swung its tail once more in the mountains. http://www.larosiere.net/webcams.html Brevieres 1550m, bottom picture, bottom left click on Square Val d'Isere, right Manchet valley 2000m. http://www.val.co.uk/webcam.htm

These precipitations are part of the same weather front which should hit our areas this weekend, but freezing level is currently still above Triglav, it should drop only to around 2200 m.

Freezing level really around 2200m, snow precipitation forecasted to 1650m altitude, more precipitation on Monday daytime, so radishes and lettuce will get moisture to sprout .

Daaam, Jedriličar, sending email to ARSO and expecting a timely updated reply is the same as catching a burglar now and sending email to police. Sad.

that's surely since yesterday afternoon, and I think I even saw it for the first time Monday evening. Problem is it doesn't show under all sun angles, so you think it's fresh, but it's not ....
