Brane, I don't doubt that you hit it, you have a lot of knowledge and experience.nasmeh

Apolonija, today I'm dealing with small gentians and reviewing my photos of these gentians from various hikes and different mountains. I don't know if I've ever photographed the snow one. I know it has more flowers on shoots and flowers are small. Bavarian is similar to spring one-all leaves are inversely ovate and entire-rosette-I don't know. Short-leaved I don't know if I've found yet. The Triglav gentian, round-leaved and short-leaved have very similar rosettes. Most common is of course spring and pot-bellied gentian. On the coast we have Triest one. There's also low gentian mentioned.
A tuft of spring gentian.1
2
The spring gentian is the most common of the small gentians.3
This is the Tergestina gentian. It is definitely the true one, as it was found in Primorska.4
The punctate gentian is also frequently found.5
This gentian should not cause us identification problems.6
Problems start here - is it Triglav, round-leaved or even short-leaved.7

Branko, I think your picture 7 is too unsharp or not precise enough to determine the gentian species. I now distinguish Triglav gentian from round-leaved, because this year I found round-leaved on Mangart and was pointed out, because I first thought it was Triglav one. Anyway, as far as I can see, the leaves don't end roundly, but more pointed, which speaks for Triglav gentian. I haven't heard of short-leaved yet, it's not mentioned in Flora Alpina either, nor in Small Flora of Slovenia. What's its Latin name? best regards

Zlatica; a bit late but therefore enjoyed the edelweiss with greater pleasure; nice.
The forecast for nice autumn gives hope that we'll still "feast our eyes" a bit on beautiful mountain flowers, of course we'll have to go a bit higher, But it's not bad to bite into the steepness if sincere desire leads your step.
Yes, after this expert "discussion" on EGG GENTIAN I can say that mine "smell like that" too, right? And I named them "willow gentian" (wrong)!?

Kati, nice "yellow ones" you've found, not to mention Zois's beauties! Even if it's egg gentian, it's not the same as mine, yours has hairy basket, if I think of gentianella, I don't see the leaves well, already by flower and basket it doesn't pull towards willow gentian. Anyway with gentians almost everyone, even botanists, freezes.zmedenvelik nasmeh

Brane, I agree with Zlatica regarding number seven.

Zlatica; Gentiana brachyphylla

Kati, in your picture only one leaf is visible and the involucre is more in "shadow". Willow gentian has different leaves, Zlatica's egg gentian is "hairy and the stem isn't round. Mountain gentian (egg gentian) has slightly thickened stem under the basket and involucre covered with black protruding hairs, but stem is short. As for me, I'll stay with your dilemmanasmeh

Thanks to both for the reply. But "replica": Zlatica, the flower on your picture no. 17 really has smooth basket, the flower on no. 20 has hairy basket. So on 17. it's egg gentian, on 20. it's not (gentianella?). Am I wrong? I don't think so. Greetings!

Haha, Kati, you know you're right, I didn't notice at all, I thought I photographed flowers of the same species! Bravo! In real life they were just as tall and quite close together. Well, next time more attention needed. velik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Hello, as I was surprised last time at Kamniško sedlo because there were still quite some flowers, so I was surprised yesterday that the whole path to Molička planina and Kocbekov dom on Korošica was without flowers. The only flower worth a photo was this one. velik nasmehnasmeh

Otiv; thanks!
Haven't we experienced nice things on flowering meadows of our mountains? Let "granny winter" first wink, let white blanket cover meadows so they wake up soon flower-covered again.

Minor thing, Kati!

We don't give in to winter so fast, let it wait a bit with its white "gear", since even in autumn something blooms, delights our souls...proof some autumn flowers. velik nasmeh

I even found Wulfen's jeglič.1
Marsh groundsel.2
Common helleborine can still be found.3

Unfortunately blurred photo of one of the fumitories. The most common are the earthy and common ones. Both are used for tinctures, as well as their hybrids.16
And also a slimy black creature. I encountered quite a few.17

Koch's gentian from Smrekovca

Next year I'll try harder in photography, so the difference between Clusius' and Koch's gentian really shows, which is the most characteristic. From above they look very similar and hard to distinguish.
