PS: Rhaetian poppy doesn't grow in KS Alps /exception Skuta summit/. Probably Kerner's poppy. If you don't know, just write alpine poppynasmeh

As you can see, Brane, there's a lot of Froelich's gentian blooming and it was a joy to watch or photograph it.
Best regards!nasmeh

I hope to find it myself tomorrow and the woolly gentian should already be blooming too.

Regarding the beautiful saxifrage here's the following. I scanned all flower forums again and didn't find the post about that saxifrage anymore. Maybe the author confused it with Host's which has similar leaves and a leaf rosette from which a long stem emerges ending in abundant inflorescence. This year I saw it a lot only on Krvavec it wasn't blooming yet when I passed by. It likes a bit of shade at the leaf rosette. It really has characteristic long leaves similar to the beautiful one. The place was precisely named - Kozji vrh on Jezersko.

Brane, I have both, but in reality they aren't that similar. Host's has narrower and longer leaves in the rosette, the flower stem is shorter, more upright, with significantly fewer flowers. Can't compare its beauty to the beautiful one, which has a proper name. But I agree, a layman can confuse them, especially if he can't compare them. On my pic at the top of this page is the garden beautiful saxifrage - Saxifraga cotyledon "Southside Seedling", Lp

Due to the abundant nighttime rain, I set off only in the afternoon, at least to Kranjska koča na Ledine. I found some flowers anyway.
Already at the parking lot I spot sviničasti svišč or svečnik.1
Horse mane.2
Long-leaved mint.3
Soft sedge.4
I find even later-blooming alpine snowbells.5
On the scree of Umik Žrela, as last year, I find habitats of gentians. They are low and intensely blue. Not large-flowered ones, nor Julian ones, because those are only in the Julijci. It is einselejeva orlica - according to Ravnik.6
On the scree, creeping houseleeks are blooming.7
There are also plenty of bushy bellflowers.8
I descend to Žrelo and there I find habitats of Zois' bellflower, elsewhere it has already wilted.9
On the cold rocks of Žrela, Clusius' cinquefoil is still blooming.10
There under the rocks I spot starry catchfly.11
Alpine rockrose.12
Orange-coloured Kerner's poppy.13
When arriving from Žrela I spot the evergreen rock speedwell.14
Next to it grows the blue-green rock speedwell.15
Already before the scree field before Umik Žrela there is plenty of this almost white garlic. It should be the yellowish garlic - Allium ericetorum.16
Under the hut on Ledinah grows the scarlet (Kamnik) garlic.17
Among the grasses under the hut also grows pink-red primrose.18
Shiny thrift.19
Now is also the time for common cyclamens.20
Spiny speedwell.21
Mountain goldenrod.22
Marsh orchids.23
Flower of scarlet hare's-ear.24
Fuchs's thrift at the hut on Ledinah.25
Blackish yarrow.26
And now a novelty found already on the scree before Umik Žrela - bristly sandwort.27
Flower of bristly sandwort. Froelich's sandwort however I did not find on the same site as last year.28

News for dessert. Ravnik V. in his little book "Alpine flowers of Slovenia" also presents low, intensely colored Einsele's hawkweed.

Today you'll watch the rain at home? Lp

So that's the hawkweed I already photographed last year. Last year just at this time I found two sites of Froelich's gentian here – this year I searched the whole scree around there and nothing. Like winter avalanches carried the sites down and buried them. So need to search this gentian elsewhere.

No, going for lunch to Stiška vas.

Froelich's gentian captivates me completely because of its blue color. About the scree you're surely right. Zois's bellflower grows on the scree where one goes to Ledine, quite low. My explanation was that avalanches brought it. Did you notice that too?

Enjoy your meal!

Blooming Zois's bellflower I found in Žrel. In Umik Žrela I saw already wilted ones in rock fissures. On screes around there I didn't notice wilted ones. Still blooming were hairy and potbellied and also the woolly-leaved one, which has grass-like leaves.

This is the time of the stellate catchfly.3

Thank you kindly, Apolonija! There will still be late mountain flowers if the weather is nice. At least one more time to botanize Krvavec and three more times Zelenica. This year's flowering season I figured out how to botanize a certain area (region) that you take for botanizing. You need to check exactly every two weeks from the start of the flowering season. First, you need to figure out when that start is.Then in two months you're up there five times, which is a bit strenuous, especially if you still go to work.Already this year I chose what I'll research next year. This year I set myself an overly demanding project - Zelenica with surroundings and Krvavec with surroundings.Sometime in the first half of October I'll present the results of how many different mountain flowers I found and counted the same flowers in these areas.I keep track of everything precisely with pictorial material.

Will you present the flora of Zelenica and Krvavca somewhere in the future like Alenka M. Kamniški vrh? Did you come to the conclusion yourself about how often you need to botanize to capture as many plants as possible, or is it written somewhere? I believe it's strenuous with work and other trips. I imagine it's/ it will be quite long-term work. The more plants you know, the more you see at once, right? I'm looking forward to your presentation.
