Good morning! It's true - I think it's drooping-fruited foxtail. It was just at the beginning of blooming and I identified it too quickly. The auricula really excites me in spring. It seems I found it last year on more than ten hikes. Often too high in rocks to approach it, like that site above huge rocks above the road to Stari Ljubelj and elsewhere.

In the valley vegetation has rushed with growth. In mountains lots of snow, so before May 15 no peak blooming expected, that's theory though, we'll see on visit to Struška. Even in June it's been beautiful many times. Best regards!

Nice, great pleasure that this section doesn't weaken, since soon there will be flowers aplenty again and from you dear teachers one learns a lot, oh well, when things get mixed up so quickly again??

jprim, the season of mountain flowers is just starting, in the mid-mountains around Gorenjska there's still plenty of snow, let alone in the high mountains. L.P.

The flowers are blooming early. B.C. you offered us nice pictures again. I'll get to know butterflies better too. You can skip asking about names, because they are correct. 9-spotted orchid- has spots 10-hooded orchid- all petals except the honey lip are in the hood 11- common orchid- Characteristic are the stripes on the hood- green veins. 18- Jacquin's restharrow Happy holidays everyone!

Apolonija, thanks for the help. Orchids really confuse me, almost for each I find at least two potential candidates. Usually I help myself with internet pictures, but that way you get tangled (and despair) quickly, so the above descriptions of key features will be very helpful. When I spotted the orchid from picture 10 in nature, I was very happy, as I thought I had found the monkey orchid, but was quickly disappointed, since closer look showed the "legs" were too thick for a monkey . The hunt for monkey orchid continues, but apparently need to move a few more km closer to the sea. Jacquin's restharrow I saw for the first time. I did try to find the name, but didn't know what to search for. It reminded me most of clover

B.C., you know that this monkey orchid has "disturbed" me for some years too. I also thought I "had" it, but it was the helmeted one. They really are very similar. The monkey one has longer, slimmer "limbs", as you point out, but not all signs are always equally expressed. The difference between them is: Flowers in our orchids open from bottom up, even in helmeted, but in monkey the opposite - from top down. You're closer to its habitat and you'll surely find it-)). From the picture I judged it's Jacquin's restharrow. Check it yourself too, since you saw the whole plant.
