Description of mountain:
Aleš Kunaver, one of our greatest alpinists (born June 23, 1935, in Ljubljana), died on November 2, 1984, in a helicopter crash between Blejska Dobrava and Kočna. Also killed were the renowned German alpinist and writer Toni Hiebeler with his wife, as well as pilot and mountain rescuer Gorazd Šturm. During the flight, Toni Hiebeler wanted to take photos for his book "Alps from the Air," for which his friend Aleš Kunaver had selflessly helped with shots of our Julian Alps.
One year later, locals placed a stone with a bronze plaque at the crash site to commemorate that fateful morning—November 2, 1984.
