Description of mountain:
Jamnikov spodmol on Kočna above Jesenice is a small cave located below a rock wall on the western slope of Kavče (also known as Žerjavec), at 720 m elevation. A few decades ago, a bone harpoon, some flint flakes, fragments of brown bear teeth, and charcoal were found inside, classifying it as an important archaeological site with the oldest evidence of human presence in the Gornjesavska dolina. Based on analysis of the charcoal and bone harpoon, the finds date to the Mesolithic culture (middle Stone Age). The rock shelter, measuring 1.7 m high, 8 m long, and 6.5 m deep, is named after its discoverer, local resident Pavle Jamnik.
