Graue Scharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2963 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 6 km northwest from the center of Großdorf and 6 km northeast from the center of Hinterburg and 0.2 km north-northeast of peak Hintere Kendlspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Sudetendeutsche Hütte, located 1.5km west-northwest. bivouac Gurner Alm is also relatively close. 2 km north from the saddle there is glacier Gradötzkees, 7 km northeast from the saddle there is also glacier Fruschnitzkees. The saddle is located above the valley Dorfer Tal.
