Großglockner is 3798 meter high peakon which a cross stands located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 9 km north-northeast from the center of Glor-Berg and 9 km north-northeast from the center of Großdorf. The nearest mountain hut is Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte, located 0.8km southeast. And bivouac Glocknerbiwak is also close by. 5 km east of the peak there is lake Sandersee. 0.7 km east from the summit there is glacier Kleinglocknerkees, 1.1 km west-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Teischnitzkees.
