Nördlicher Daunkogel is 3075 meter high peak and is part of the Stubai Alps. The peak is located 1.3 km north of peak Hinterer Daunkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Amberger Hütte, located 4km north-northwest. A little further is bivouac Notbiwak. 0.8 km north-northeast from the summit there is glacier Bockkoglferner, 1.4 km south-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Daunkopfferner. Northwest of the summit is the valley Sulztal.
