Hinterer Daunkopf is 3225 meter high peak and is part of the Stubai Alps. The peak is located 8 km east-northeast from the center of Sölden and 9 km northeast from the center of Zwieselstein. The nearest mountain hut is Dresdner Hütte, located 3km east-southeast. A little further is bivouac Notbiwak. 0.7 km east from the summit there is glacier Daunkopfferner, 2 km north from the summit there is also glacier Bockkoglferner. The peak is located north of the valley Windachtal.
