Schwarze Wand is 3506 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 7 km west-southwest from the center of Innergschlöß and 8 km west-southwest from the center of Außergschlöß. The nearest mountain hut is Defreggerhaus, located 2km south-southwest. A little further is Vorderofnerhütte. 3 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Kristallwandkees, 4 km north-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Nördliches Viltragenkees. The peak is located south-southwest of the valley Gschlößtal.
