Winterkogel is 2303 meter high peak with a cross located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 2 km east from the center of Enzingerboden and 12 km south of Niedernsill. The nearest mountain hut is Fürthermoaralm/Ebmatten, located 5km east. A bit closer is Wurf Hochalm, which is located 1.3km to the north. 1.8 km southeast from the summit there is glacier Schwarzkarlkees, 2 km east-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Oberes Hocheiserkees. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Dorfer Tal.
