Niedere Scharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2065 meters located in the High Tauern mountain range. The saddle is located 3 km south-southeast from the center of Enzingerboden and 13 km east of Außergschlöß. The nearest mountain hut is Fürthermoaralm/Ebmatten, located 7km east-northeast. Closer is Wurf Grundalm, which is located 4km to the north. The monument Janusz Nanow is also located near the saddle. 2 km southeast from the saddle there is glacier Unteres Rifflkees, 3 km east-northeast from the saddle there is also glacier Schwarzkarlkees. The saddle is located north-northeast of the valley Dorfer Tal.
