Hinterer Schafbichl is 2348 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 1.8 km north-northeast of peak Tauernkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Kalser Tauernhaus, located 7km south. A bit closer is bivouac Karl-Fürst-Hütte, which is located 4km to the west. 2 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Rifflkarkees, 3 km west-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Sonnblickkees. South-southwest of the summit is the valley Dorfer Tal.
