On Saturday, I opened the season with a wonderful circular hike that starts and ends in Chiusaforte. Along path no. 425, I headed all the way to the military facility at location Sot Cretis. A comfortable, soft path leads past location Polizza with excellent views. The junction with path no. 425a is not marked at all, so be careful not to turn left onto this path, which is better marked. When the unmarked path to M. Belepeit branches off to the right and then the marked path no. 425a towards the Agar da lis Tais pass, I descend into the bed of the Cuestis stream, where part of the path on the other side of the stream has been washed away, so you have to look for the continuation diagonally to the north, or towards the nearby serpentine. Then follows a very nice section of ascent to the pass north of the Piccolo Belepeit summit. After about 10 minutes, the markings almost disappear, but the path can still be followed through the next three serpentines. After the pass, the path descends into a dark forest and there, by a fallen tree, you have to find the continuation of the path about ten meters lower. The path crosses several somewhat difficult-to-cross screes. Although the map shows objects at location Conturate and at location Tamaruc, I didn't see these objects or their remains. In the last scree before the junction with path no. 424, there was some water, and that was the only location all the way to the Patok saddle where you can get water (about 8 hours of walking!). From the junction at location la Cita, there is a long ascent to the abandoned military facility at location Sot Cretis. There were also some patches of snow. One room in the building is still covered and can therefore serve as excellent shelter in case of storms. A few meters behind the building is the sign for path no. 427 and direction Rio Molino, but it is written on the sign that there is no passage there (that section is also no longer marked on the map). After crossing Costa Maurona, path no. 425a descends through a beech forest towards Costa Sguerie and then to the Pedot saddle. The last section before the saddle is somewhat more difficult in terms of orientation because the path is not visible. After the saddle, I descend to path no. 427 and then continue uphill along it to the branch of path no. 426 at the Agar da lis Tais saddle. There was no one in the nearby facility. Along path no. 426, I bypass the Plananizza summit and reach the saddle between this summit and Colle Nauzaris summit. The nicest part of the day follows, or a fairy-tale descent to the Patok saddle and then to Chiusaforte. At the facility at location Ceresaria, at an altitude of about 820 m, there is a tapped water source with a tap, then the path winds downhill back to path no. 425, from where it is another 15 minutes to the car in Chiusaforte. In total, this circular tour took 9 hours.
