Today from Krnica via Lipnica in early morning cool over Špik to Frdamane police.
Weather - fog till noon, so return via Kačji graben already quite heated.
Partly purpose to replace summit log with new one. Someone left it out two years ago and it hasn't dried since.. (Pity) Has history from 1994. In future stored in PD Gozd Martuljek archive..

If the approach to the 3 larches is not known to you, it would probably be better to do it from the Za Ak direction. Then complete the entire tour to MMP with descent over Kotle, whose course you already know.
When you reach Za Ak, head to the right fork of the scree and almost to the end. Turn left onto the dwarf pine slope towards Široka peč, where the path between and along the pines is clearly visible.
A little above the two memorial plaques the path ends. Continue into the gully under Široka peč, where there was a recent rockfall. After the fall, left of the gully on compacted scree where above you find the remains of a path leading towards the rocky bulge. Over it towards the gully, find the easiest passage and reach the basin under the Široka Peč wall. There it's not good to linger too long… Across the basin to the right and on the slope find remains of the path or suitable ledges that bring you to the wooded ridgelet right under the larch with the logbook. Descent on these scree ledges is more awkward than ascent. And once again … don't hang around in that basin! Good luck!

Today from below Špik and over Kotle to Mala Martuljška Ponca. Less snow in the north gully under the saddle this year than last year at this time. And even this won't hold long in this heat… Tone wrote last year how sorry he was for the torn logbook, so today I "armored" it with silver tape . So it will last another two or three years then it will be full. Descent past 3 larches… After a long time I noticed two alpinists in Široka Peč. Over the scorched scree Za Akom to the water and home.. One of the nicer tours in the Martuljek group..

Today from Zgornji Pobič via path 702 to Lopič (Monte Plauris). Last year I saw it from the other side of the valley from Monte Pisimon summit. Such a beautiful mountain pulls you, the world is wild and solitary.
The path around the ladder is newly equipped with cables and a couple new steps. Higher up through bushes below saddle cut through, so no need to get lost on game trails. Not even a cloud on the summit spoiled my enthusiasm for the highest Muzci peak.
Worth checking the renovated mine above bivouac. Tunnels seem permanently lit, only description signs in Italian.

28. 4. 2025
Today from Cristo di Forca saddle on path 414 to Amariana summit. Path is well trodden and nicely maintained. Looks like they even mow the grass along the trail. In upper part the cables in the gully below the ridge are renewed and all fine. No more snow on path. To the ridge it was quite warm for this time of year, in summer must burn well over those grasses above tree line.... Luckily little visitors today (only 4 cars). Otherwise meeting on narrow road can be quite “work”.
Views from summit … phenomenal with Creta Grauzaria and Monte Sernio in foreground and Julian Alps in background.
Short but nice tour.

Yesterday 30.8. over Great Ridge. Path and route nicely followable. Some cairns below, nowhere else to go anyway. On the ridge penultimate tower looks quite hard from afar, but when close there's right away "highway" on left side of ridge behind. Whole tour solo, no crowds around either. Descent over Turska gora and over bottomless sod to Kamniško sedlo and by road to Konec. Ah, instead of letting people park on Jermance gravel, now they'll tear up whole lower meadow... That sign for logging and wood hauling is pointless, cuz they've cut everything up there anyway...

Junction approx at 2530 m when out of chimneys and slabs. There on ridge where to Škrlatica summit still cca 1/2 hour. Down smaller scree slightly left then wide ridge down cca 50 height meters. At edge cairn, from there keep left.. Cairns continuous in direction.. total around 200 height meters. Like approx on picture.. Good luck!

15. 8. 2024 from Kotla to Veliki and Middle Rokav. Long, strenuous (especially return from Kotla) but magnificent tour.
Thanks to Tonetu (lijaneja) for useful tips. The ascent route is otherwise very logical, go where it's easiest.. everything else is looking for trouble. From saddle a bit lower into distinct chimney, then follow new very high-quality belays to summit. Also from Middle 2 belays made, we went down on foot too..
Still snow in V Kotlu and one chamois who doesn't care about summit ascents.. And as someone wrote, “No crowds at the top”. Neighboring Škrlatica besieged…😊

Today I climbed above Kuhinja špica. Morning cloudy below, up top “Šajba”. The path can be found. A bit with the help of Heavy Bull's sketches, whoever that is … thanks to him and my predecessors who put up some cairns. I also put one, but not for orientation purposes..😊. Nice pathless terrain under Cmir.

Today from Mlinarca through the hidden double window to Kanceljne. Under Lešarjev slap someone left red hiking poles… later on the tour we didn't meet anyone. Continued to Prevčev tower and abseiled 3x into Hruška. Then easier approach to both summits of Planja and back along the marked trail to Cestar's hut. The tour that was long on the wish list justified its beauty in every respect 😊 Unforgettable!

Yesterday from Zapotok to Zagorelec and further traversing all the way to Špičica and Neimenovani vrh, where I finally find a decent descent towards planina Zapotok. The ridge is probably not visited very often, because the slings on the abseil stations are already quite shabby and I add new ones. On the top of Oltarček there's only one suspicious peg so I hammer another one and connect it with a new sling... the next one should replace it with a stronger one! This part of the ridge is really the cherry on the cake. Further to Špičica the grasses in the shade are still wet. In this solitary world you only meet some local snake, the grasses are sown with lush alpine flowers, it even smelled like chamomile. Even chamois avoid it. 😊 I think the most awkward descent is from Špičica. The black slings have expired.. so the ice axe helped the most.
All in all, this ridge is really something special in everything it offers and suitable only for mountaineers who are 100 percent confident in moving on pathless terrain. For abseil we had two thinner 30 m ropes and that's sufficient, less is not.

Today from Podklanc via Buflon weg past the cross at Golobar to Lipnik, Srednja špica and also Hudi vrh.
On the way up I used GPS aids a couple of times, mostly the mulatjere are easy to follow. The path from Podklanc to Kozji rob is narrow in places and if wet in that steepness caution is needed.
Above Srednja špica a hawk flew over me a couple of times…
Even if summits under 2000m the tour is quite worthwhile. Mine said 19 km, 1700m asc, 8.5 hrs. Nice lonely areas...

In picture 11 it's most likely "Something green" , probably Hairy spurge (Euphorbia villosa) which grows in Notranjska. It's also recognized by the hairs on the underside of the leaves. That's how it got its name.

The SE ridge of Dolkove Špice was an unfinished tour for some 50 years. The first attempt was under the leadership of Avgust Delavec from Mojstrana on an alpine course in Vrata, where I was with two other guys from Mojstrana roped up. So much time has passed that I forgot the names… Anyway, somewhere in the middle a huge storm hit us and we turned back.
Today I climbed it solo in peace and wonderful weather. Orientationally it is not demanding.. just don't seek difficulties and there are mostly cairns.. Descent from the summit to the west and also to Dovški Gamsovec, because it is so handy by hand and foot.. Across the screes under DŠ you are quickly at the junction to the bivouac. Very nice tour… Especially the views from Spodnja Dolkova Špica towards the summit are unique.

Today while the weather lasts, early under Špik, over Kotle to Peči and under Visoka Ponca all through snow nicely to the saddle. From there still a hop to the top. All as before. As for the book, there's enough space considering the number of visits. The cover is really torn. I gave it a new bag and returned past 3 larches behind Ak to Ruta home. Someone cut some scrub from Pod Špika past the lower cauldron to the middle one. Luckily didn't overdo it so it's nicely passable without scratches. 😊 Snow is soft but crampons and ice axe are still “mandatory gear”.
