Extremely annoying, tasteless!

The advantage of restricting movement to municipalities is that I'm "forced" to discover new, lesser-known municipal hills. This time it's Raskovec, rising 656 m above sea level. It's a forest-covered peak on the extreme SE of the municipality: borders Logatec and Vrhnika.

The path is mostly a forest trail, sometimes marked with blue blazes, sometimes a goat path or nothing; a little sense of orientation is needed.

The summit has no view; it is on the S side ca. 25 m lower. A view opens to the Julian Alps and central KSA.

What else can I add? Hmm... large patches of wonderful moss on rocks. Great for a nativity scene

Today with my daughter and nephew in a loop from Razdrto. The path is excellently marked, lots of hikers, a light breeze at the top and friendly staff in the hut!
But quite a few families took their little ones (not all were in elementary school yet) up this steep mountain, which I think is irresponsible, because there are quite a few gaps on certain sections. + of course without protection. One mom preferred to turn back, which deserves praise, that she didn't listen to the others!

That's why I preferred to wait until my daughter turned 10 or more importantly, that she exceeded 150cm. Exactly because of the gap. So that it's really safe.

Today I visited these remote parts of our country and I don't regret it! Beautiful landscape, friendly locals and views from the top worth the effort.
Start was classic: Breginj, first km along the river Bela or its cascades. The pools below them let me know to visit them on the way back...

Well, then the path really begins. In the forest full of last year's leaves on the path and faded markings, it was as humid as in some tropics. Literally it was running off me. The steepness is just right, but I was running away from this humidity... The air improved noticeably after crossing the exposed ridge(let) and all the way to the top it was bearable despite the heat. Especially since there was a little breeze here and there. And good thing, because the steepness of these two km of path to the bivouac is quite a challenge for knees and condition. That really bites! For the start of the high mountain season I set myself quite a challenge
Well, first a jump to Gabrovec, then to the bivouac and a walk to Mali Muzec. I was toying with the idea of crossing the ridge to K. Stol. But I didn't want to overdo it. Another time. The pools of Bela were waiting for me, hehehe.

Oh, views from the peaks: it's worth going to these remote places! Definitely!

Today in a family group hike from the direction of Ortnek. A good hour on an easy trail past nicely marked trail signs. Up there very friendly caretakers, lots of space for having a drink and admiring the surroundings. The best views are to the S and SW and part of SE. The rest is obscured by forest. At least in the immediate vicinity of the hut.

The path is for every season, for all weather conditions and all ages!

Then a quick jump to Trubar's homestead and a visit to Vodomčev gaj.

I'm a bit confused, because the post from 6. 5. 2026 shows photos of a bare path (and still very barren meadows), on the photos from 7. 5. 2026 there is quite a bit of snow. But from 13. 5. 2026 everything is lush green ...

Today in the company of friends from these parts we did this trail. Start at the parking lot by the sports park, past the water intake where the asphalt ends (don't recommend parking there, fines fly thick and fast), to the Roman marble quarry, then waterfalls, rapids, mill ruins all the way to Ošlja. After 7.5km and 550m elevation the trail ended among haystacks and weekend cottages. Trail marked, sometimes narrow goat path full of leaves, so caution advised. Otherwise super hike in this beautiful part of Slovenia.

At the beginning of the week, in a small group, we walked the familiar coastal hiking paths, namely the Strunjan and Piran ones. Start opposite the camp in Strunjan, to Moon Bay (the most beautiful part of the path!!), then along the ridge to Pacuga, continuation to Fiesa, along the coast to Piran, Portorož, past the auditorium and through the tunnel back to Strunjan. In 4.5h with stops, almost 17km and 450m elevation gain. Weather top, sea cold at 12°C, full of jellyfish and a few brave swimmers. Crowds in Piran and Portorož up to their heads, some in swimsuits, some in coats.

I highly recommend this trail to everyone who hasn't done it yet,

The entire hill is in full bloom! This year the dog's-tooth violets are more abundant than ever seen before, really at the peak of beauty, while wild garlic scents from afar
The path is exemplarily maintained (from the Cerknica side), there were no crowds of hikers, which is a welcome change.

Today in family lineup we "hopped" on a trip to Sorica (Grohar,...), stopped and admired the artworks on rocks a bit above Zgornja Sorica and did a short ascent to Lajnar from the ski slope base. The path is not marked in places, but you can't miss it. Almost no wind, but mists were racing, so no view of the peaks. On the other hand, the play of shadows, clouds and individual sun rays created wonderful scenes towards Baška grapa and surroundings.

Next time when time allows, we'll do a circular one around all nearby peaks!

After a couple of years up again. This time in early autumn attire. The start of the path is partially messed up because spruce logging took place and everything is churned by machines. Some branches on the path.
Otherwise the path is still nicely marked. At the top of the tower the late afternoon sun was pleasantly warming; no wind. While at the starting point it was quite windy and cold. So you could nicely martinčkati
Views complete: from the far northern borders to the Trieste Gulf.

With my daughter today did this trail from planina Blato to Ledvička, then on the way back turned to Štapce and to Mala Tičarica and then descent to Ovčarija, etc. Gotta praise her she walked bravely, no whining, except towards end of 23km trail that toes hurt a bit. Nothing unusual given that stone pounding on ruined path. Trail otherwise ok, just more ruined to Dedno polje. Then better. Markings still plenty, but from double lake increasingly faded, sometimes almost gone.
Quite some folks, 3/4 foreigners. Languages everywhere, same plates. Price still 20€ at toll, barrier up at least 30sec after passing. Could sneak by.
Then good hour dip in Bohinj Lake, refreshes with 24C. Plenty folks, mostly foreigners

Return trip collapse over Bled. After 3 years passing here, almost stroke, what state...

Bottom line: 9h, 23km, 1200m ascent unforgettable experience for 9.5yo daughter. And for me too taking her to this wonderful world!

Yesterday circular tour from Lepena: Velika Baba - Lanževica - Bogatinsko sedlo - Krn Lake.
24.5km, 1820m ascent.
Path technically bp, most annoying descent on VB slope in dwarf pine belt, quick to lose and wander in juniper thicket. But made it, then easy to follow markers.
Marked sections super signposted, path varied, few hikers except classic to hut or lake.
VB summit swarms of flying ants, couldn't stay longer than photo shoot
Views top notch.
These days recommend min 3l liquid!
