On Sunday we climbed our last planned peak, which is the highest mountain in Macedonia and Albania. The peak is marked and easily accessible, requires just some fitness, especially because in these parts in summer it's even hotter than at home, temperatures exceed 40°C.
We slept in Mavrovo and drove on a solid road to the starting point of the old Stezimir guard post towards the pasture and later the summit, meanwhile observing numerous peaks. There weren't many visitors.

Sunday night hike starting in Železniki past Ratitovec to Dražgoše this year passed under the sign of excellent conditions. A bit below Ratitovec we were greeted by snow, or rather some ice. After the break in the hut most hikers put on small crampons, which we later found out weren't needed. Descent towards Pečani and Kosmat vrh wasn't icy at all, road to Razstovkipa also dry and not muddy..... Rest by campfire and slowly onwards into awakening morning with nice views, a bit tired after sleepless night waiting above Dražgoše to head to the village... There as usual welcome, service for us and others... celebration and pleasant atmosphere... Nice weather attracted many from all over, some from farther, others just short walk...

Ppegan, thanks for your interesting post. I am also a frequent visitor to Komna and surroundings and grateful for this environment and the opportunity to roam it and learn something previously unknown

Bravo, tough and at the same time enjoyable is trudging in these parts, most often I get soaked already from pl.Dol towards Mlakarjeva bajta. I tell myself many times it's necessary to dump all the snow in this slope

There was a hike to Dražgoše at night and I assume it's icy...

Me too, I'm a frequent visitor to these parts, when I arrive by car for a hiking tour, in summer often also by bike. I agree that everything is falling apart, full of wild parking in the spring-summer months; if autumn is nice, it drags on even further...

My salute to you youngsters for all walked and climbed in this wild world of peaks surrounded by wonderful setting and vegetation. I'll be glad if someday I observe at least some detail from afar

The system shows occupancy and it rarely happens that 100% of them all come. Some reserve multiple dates and then cancel 3 days before the date so that TR doesn't deduct a certain amount, for some those 15€ don't mean much or they miss the cancellation. But last year it happened that everything was reserved, then more than 30% of beds were free, but they turned hikers away all afternoon with full occupancy

Drinks only when organized, otherwise more of a problem, or carry what you need for 64km, 12-14h walking and 2200m elevation. Houses where you could get some only in Rajhenav and then just before finish, last 15-10km
