We parked the car above Sočergo at St. Kvirik church. Followed the trail that gently descends along the karst edge all the way to the natural bridge. Descended through it on the path that turns back, this time under the karst edge past numerous tens-of-meters-high walls and overhangs. To finish, had to climb steeply up with cable and steps to the trail leading back to start. Clear weather, some light bora; the whole trail took us good two hours.

Today we set off for Vrtača via Mala Glava along the pathless ridge above Suho ruševje. We chose Zelenica as starting point. After twenty minutes walking towards Vrtača, we turn right into Krnica Suho ruševje. Once through the dense bushes and the cirque opens wide, at the big boulder we turn left and first climb rocks then scree to the ridge. From here on walking is pure poetry. Ascent, which is a combo of easy climbing, walking steep grasses and finding passages, offers really nice views.
Descended via usual southern approach path.
Recommend the tour to all used to easy climbing and pathless walking.

Last week on Wednesday the road was plowed and passable to the penultimate bend below Erjavčeva hut. From the Primorska side to the top parking lot.

Winter is back at Rakitna.

Last year at this time water was there. A few meters above the concrete trough water from the tap flowed like from the home water pipe. Why no drinking water this year, I don't know.

Some morning glimpses from Slemenova špica, which was more or less deserted today. Trail to Vratca pass completely firm and dry. Further conditions almost wintery. Usual path under snow and partially beaten at start, soon tracks disappear, walking further could be dangerous due to slipping. Turned back a bit and towards screes, then our way to top of Slemenova špica. Ridge still under snow, summit rocky. Returned same path, had problems plowing through snow. Met some hikers only on descent to initial dry path section. Almost all summer geared and equipped.

We were walking on Golovec today, noticed a big Corona virus on stacked wood by the path. A bit worried because we were without masks.

Today we took a short walk around Vršič and surroundings. Road fully dry. To Tičarjev and Poštarski dom trail made that doesn't sink. Path to saddle and to Slemenova špica not trodden. Off path snow no hold human weight. To Grebenc two groups ~15 tourists ascending, by plates Germans. Due high temps, noon above Grebenc almost continuous avalanching, not bothering ski tourers. Open only Erjavčeva and Tonkina koča.

Today we visited Kompotela. Parked at paid parking, then via Kriška planina to planina Koren. Sat a bit on the bench enjoying pleasant sun, then on to Kompotela summit. On the way to planina Koren hit dry and bare sections, also muddy and fully icy. But main part of path on nicely trodden snow to top. Weather not wintery, sunny, warm no wind, visibility very good. Met couple hikers, on Kompotela only one, others visited vrh Korena.

And some more of our today's. Despite intermittent snowfall, road still normal drivable-dry. After rainy November weather, we missed sun badly. Today plenty of it, air full of vitamin D.

Today we went to Viševnik via Kačji rob, where we turned onto the eastern ridge of Viševnik. Quite a crowd at the top, so we continued as far as possible along the western ridge to Srenjski preval.
Returned along the north side below Viševnik and again via Kačji rob to the starting point at Rudno polje. Weather very warm, no wind, some haze in the sky. Path mostly dry, larch needles falling fast, those nicest golden colors are no more.
