I'm opening this topic because I think that memorials to deceased mountaineers might interest us more than many others that supposedly have little in common with the basic activity and purposes of the portal's visitors..
I suggest providing a comment on the cause of the accident along with the photo (if known)

On Saturday: descent is still possible from the top of V.S. (almost) to Prižnica. Mandatory early.

At St. Catherine (TNP) they have set up a new informative board.

Trail from Čop: midway there's a detour due to logging, otherwise the trail is quite reworked, changed, ruined. On the plateau top, from Zakop to transmitter still some snow and lots of mud, so to Škrbina the path along northern edge past Partisan Hospital is more suitable.

Path from Sp. Gorij (Poljane): Due to logging and timber extraction, they widened the entire path into a ditch that runs from the starting point all the way to the pasture. On the pasture everything as before, so still nice. On the way back I observed caves on the steep southern slope of the neighboring Boršt. Regards! H

Yesterday, after a somewhat longer time, again over Jelenkamen towards Pristava in Javorniški Rovt. On the path before the rovti there is still some snow in places; otherwise, spring is already knocking hard at the door. Back, as usual, through the rovti and through Trebež towards Jesenice. Best! H

This time the path mimo babe is normally passable from start to finish. In the lower part also a new section of shortcut (path) is arranged. Commendable. Due to prolonged rain and currently slightly lower temperatures careful on descent - under the leaves there is quite some mud and ice!

News at the transmitter - viewpoint platform in the form of a nice wooden balcony with stairs, still waiting for info boards. On Planski vrh now also a board with the story of the Jesenice meteorite. Contribution from TIC Jesenice.

The path mimo babe is in the upper part locally buried under trees which were felled by the recent storm. At Poljanska baba there is a logbook box and a bench. Due to the foresters' massacre in the forest above the plateau it's no longer pleasant as it once was. On the pasture however still nice.

In dry no danger, in wet and icy use common sense..

Path from Tomšičeva starting point (today) trodden. Higher up, quite a bit more snow. Currently: crampons needed for last ascent and descent by the cable, quite icy. Trodden also from Ukove. Cheers!

Yes, Pivka or grey woodpecker. Only males have the red colored upper head part.

velkavrh Great Northern Diver is not a winter guest, you can encounter it all year. In Upper Carniola it's more common at Bled and both Savas. Probably it was rarer here in the past and that's why it's not in the handbook.
