Hello!
ksena@ - the claim about the lake connection is not far from the truth; this watershed is all connected, if not above ground then underground - even with Planinsko polje
laščan@ - the author of the special markings (on photos 4 and 5) is surely the priest, Mr. Vid Premrl. Besides the mentioned artworks (angels on Nanos and things on the church of sv. Urbana on Vremščica) also things on the church of sv. Brica (on Nanos) and probably elsewhere.
Regarding Martin Krpan... artistic freedom

- Levstik did live for some time in Pivka basin - at Kalc castle (near Zagorje) as home tutor for Miroslav Vilhar, but he came there already after the publication of Martin Krpan.
But still viharnik@ and Hribovc88@ are right about Pivka St. Trinity as Krpan's
To list some facts in favor of the claim that Martin Krpan was a Pivčan (resident of Pivka basin):
- he meets the emperor in harsh winter on the emperor's path Vienna-TS so-called Triest road and Martin says: "home I'm from the Top of St. Trinity, two hours walk from here" - which is near St. Trinity and for a guy who's on the road every day and knows all shortcuts, probably possible to reach in 2 hours,
- when Martin angrily parts from the emperor he says; "even at your place I haven't and won't get such service as in Razdrtem at Klinčar" - Razdrtem is also on Krpan's path from larger towns towards St. Trinity,
- Pivčani were known carriers and hauled everywhere; Martin lists some larger towns, that he was already in Rijeka, Koper, Vrhnika and Ljubljana - one of the old smuggling paths leads from Pivka to Loška dolina right under St. Trinity,
- the village Vasišče on St. Trinity also existed - experts say it's documented in urbaries,
- from St. Trinity Bile and Poček are visible (now part of military training area, but the beauty of the buildings can still be felt), which were branches of Lipica stud farm, their lands reached right to St. Trinity, nearby there were two more branches of Lipica stud farm - Prestranek and Škule...
I myself know only 1 claim that speaks in favor of the Bločani

; when Levstik describes Martin's offense: "Like lightning behind Mokrcem,"- Mokerc is indeed closer to Bloke, but also close to Velike Lašče from where Levstik was from home and knew exactly how it lightens behind Mokrcem.
So...

not exactly the most mountaineering writing, but it was a challenge, not to be silent...
